"Call Him Out"
Jeannine Hebb, an award-winning songwriter and vocalist, has been studying, performing, writing, and rocking out since she was 11.
At 20, Jeannine graduated magna cum laude from Berklee College of Music, having studied with some of the best in the business (Gabrielle Goodman, Pat Pattison, Livingston Taylor). For two consecutive years, she won both the Berklee Singer/Songwriter and Songwriting Showcase competitions. She was chosen as the recipient of the Frank E. Remick and E. Ione Lockwood awards for excellence in music and vocal performance, and was honored with the Susan Glover Hitchcock scholarship for outstanding musicianship. Upon graduation, Jeannine received the Scott Benson scholarship for performing songwriters - the highest honor in the Berklee songwriting department.
Jeannine has been seen both as a singer and songwriter at many a famous venue in the Northeast including: Scullers, The Ragatta Bar, The Middle East, Harper's Ferry, The Berklee Performance Center, The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Don Hill's, and Galapagos Art Space, and many more. She's appeared with jazz legends Ben Monder, Clarence Penn, James Genus, and Tim Ries, and has served as an opening act for two-time grammy nominee Tracy Bonham.
Jeannine’s debut EP of original songs, “Too Late to Change Me”, was released in March of 2007, and has received national attention and acclaim. The songs, while roughly categorized as pop/rock, borrow influence from blues, jazz, R&B and soul. Comparisons have been made to Fiona Apple, Laura Nyro, Carole King, and Norah Jones. The EP has been described as “music like we have not heard in many, many years”, and is “truly reminiscent of the styles of foundational, outstanding songwriters.” - Noah Fleischman (WOR NYC radio producer).
The 24 year old’s original compositions and jazz singing projects can be heard on the Boston College Show "The BC", and on many area radio stations, including Boston's famed WGBH. Jeannine has appeared as a frequent guest on New York television and radio - as a performer on the Joey Reynold’s Show (a long-running hit talk show on New York’s WOR) , and “Metro Elvis” (a weekly Manhattan program featuring up-and-coming artists).
In 2008, a video of Hebb's song “Just Enough for Me”, was picked to appear as a sample video on the newest line of video/mp3 players released by Coby Electonics. Last October, her EP was featured on the cover of Discmakers - the nation's leading provider of CD duplication and manufacturing services.
Jeannine continues to record and perform regularly throughout the Northeast. Check her out on itunes, CD baby, Rhapsody, and Amazon.com!
"Jeannine Hebb's debut EP, Too Late To Change Me, is a musical revelation for those tired of the usual tricks of the Pop trade...Jeanine Hebb's voice is quite possibly one of the most striking in popular music, able to belt with the best of them one moment and break your heart with a soft passage the next. Too Late To Change Me is one of the finest debuts I've had the opportunity to review. Make sure you acquire Too Late To Change Me, and make every effort to see Jeannine Hebb if she plays in your neck of the woods. The time will come when you won't get anywhere near a show without paying Live Nation prices." - Wildy's World.com April 29, 2009.
"A rare few times each year, we discover a female artist whose music completely blows us away. This happened when our friends at Ariel Publicity introduced us to Jeannine Hebb via her 2007 debut EP Too Late To Change Me....the debut EP by Jeannine Hebb remains a stunning example of the singer songwriter's vast talent. Join us impatiently in the wait for her next release" - Musical Discoveries.com: May 30, 2009
Thanks for the ad! Enjoyed listening to your music - great Tunes! My favorite is "Only Ones" - you are really talented - great Songwriting, Voice and delivery. There are not many out there that can write really good catchy and engaging songs and I am very impressed with what I have heard here - because I actually enjoyed just listening to the songs themselves.
If you have a chance give me a listen and a comment of what you think of my songs? Glad to make your cyber-acquaintance! Cheers from the other side of the Bridge! Eddie.
