Just as God said, “Let there be light” and light was, He spoke Jeh-Niss and here they are. Using hard core, heart penetrating hip hop lyrics and soul stirring, down south gospel singing, Jeh-Niss became the catalyst to send conviction, deliverance, and healing to all who hear the salvation message.
Originally two individual artists, Sly (Slyrianna Avery) locally known in parts of Georgia for singing gospel, and holy hip hop group Big Mark (Marcus Masslieno) and E.S.K.I. (Enoch Avery), combined artistic forces creating an unique blend for gospel music. With songs such as, “We Preach We Pray,” “Peculiar,” “My Worship” and “Why”, became the conformation to bring forth the collaboration called Jeh-Niss, short for Jehovah Nissi (which means God, My Banner). Driven on saving souls for Christ through their edgy, hip hop/neo soul blend, the name Jeh-Niss quickly spread in local churches like wild fire.
With the completion of their long awaited freshman album, Spirit Upon All Flesh, on the horizon, Jeh-Niss is aiming for a national as well as an international ministry. With a vision of completing God’s will beyond the four walls of the church, for Jeh-Niss, their music is not just for show or boast, it’s just real.
