On the 15th September 2006 at the Alexandra Palace, Bradford’s Junior Witter made history. The heavy-handed switch-hitter became the first ever British fighter to win the WBC word light-welterweight title – the most highly regarded of them all.
He won the Championship with a stand-out points victory over the highly regarded former world champion DeMarcus Corley, promoted by Don King.
On Saturday 20th January 2007, he made his 'First Defence,' sensationally stopping normally tough Mexican Arturo Morua in nine rounds.
He now faces his first mandatory challenger - American former world champion Vivian Harris. The explosive punchers meet on Friday 7th September at the Doncaster Dome. Junior is returning to Yorkshire to showcase the most prestigious title in world boxing.

Devon Alexander looks a decent fighter on paper but hasn't fought anyone of your class. You've got the power to keep him off and stop him...and with him being a Don King fighter you might just have to do that to get the win. Good luck Junior, bring the strap home
