Before BRUCE KULICK became a star playing for such bands as MEATLOAF, BLACKJACK (MICHAEL BOLTON) and finaly KISS, he played and recorded in 1974, 6 progressive rock songs with two other Jackson Heights musician's, writer, bass player and singer MIKE KATZ, and GUY BOIS, who was a progressive drummer. This was a perfect match as BRUCE was an avid CLAPTON/CREAM fan, MIKE was an avid JACK BRUCE/CREAM fan, and GUY added an interestingly progressive drum beat, to round out the bands sound. All three were then playing in Top-40 bands, playing disco, and other popular dance songs of that era, in local community churches and schools. The total opposite music of KKB (the band had no name at the time) was recorded by the trio and amazingly forgotten about for almost 40 years! Keeping in touch with MIKE over the years, BRUCE would always tell him about playing them for his fellow musicians, and friends and always getting a great reaction. So started the wheels turning to bring this music to the public! Finally, in May of 2008, KKB 1974 was re-born, still sounding as fresh as if it was recorded today!!! I've really been enjoying the 1974 CD. Thanks for having faith that there would be people who would enjoy that unheard slice musical adventurous. I also appreciate that you didn't kill the vibe with over-production in Pro Tools. It sounds clean and strong, but the production fairy dust is minimized and the great performances by the entire band stand out. Cool material too, stands up to repeated listens really well. rock the hell out, john.
