Deftones, JAK, Facing the Plastic, Johnny Cash, As Cities Burn, 75Winters, Coldplay, Chiodos, Mudvayne, (old)Norma Jean, The Chariot, Staija, Smilin Liar, Copasetic, Dashboard Confessional, Otep, System of a down, Cold, Nightmare of you, and many many others.
From the ashes of the local minneapolis power house JAK, comes something of sheer beauty. And that is the musical stylings of Kyle Manchester. Driven by pure emotion and the love of music, Kyle plans on pushing the musical boundaries of acoustic rock. Through deep and sometimes dark lyrics, catchy guitar lines and a sense of raw emotion he conveys a message that screams LISTEN. And thats all he asks, that you listen to what he has to say.
Kyle's lyrics can crush your spirit and make you feel warm at the same time. His guitar melodies will having you humming along from the opening note to the final bar. His message will make you think, cry, and laugh all while giving you a sense of security most artists his age can't convey. When asked about his style, Kyle said this "Look, I don't want to be labeled. I want people to walk away from my music with a completley different mindset than what they had when they first pressed play".
This young artist also wants to show everyone that he has a side that no one has ever seen or heard from him before. So with his debut E.P. "A new take on an old story" released June 26th, 2006 and Kyle's next installment set for release in early 2008 Kyle knows that the time for show and tell is now. It may be live, it may be on one of his two albums, but he plans on showing off the side of him that has been in the shadows for too long. Get ready to see the light.
Please, let all your pre-concived notions about "metal" singers fall to the way side and give these notes a chance to grab your soul. You will not be dissapointed by the results. Come and grow with Kyle as he explores this strange journey called life through the most beautiful expression know to man...Music.
Kyle M.-COMEBACK SHOW JULY 20th's Friend Space (Top 15)
Ummm.... Kinda waiting on your response for Friday.
Also, I'm considering making a little remake of Nights Without Sleep. It would be somewhat similar to how I remade "Hey Joe" by Daniel Johnston on my page.
I'd need to know your chords, though. Trying to figure it out by ear is kinda killing my time, haha. I used to know how to play it on guitar a while back, but I can't seem to figure that out anymore.
At any rate, get back to me on that if you're cool with me doing that and the intro (and perhaps you can toss that on your CD as well, whatevs).
Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. Where and when do you think?
I've recently updated my music library with tons of stuff, so I have a lot to work with now. Sean and I are working on some scores for some indie film makers from Mexico right now as well as our own Facing the Plastic shit, but I don't see why I(we) couldn't take on album artwork + an intro for your album.
Dude, Kyle, thanks for all the comments the past few days (including what was on my personal profile). I think I'm gonna have to listen to your new song a few more times, especially when I have more time alone to just focus on it. From what I've heard thus far, it sounded a bit on the slower side, which is cool and all, but I miss the uptempo rhythmic strums of yesteryear. But in no way am I saying this song sucks, haha. Just saying what I loved in your past songs.
So, yeah, lemme give it a listen at a little bit of a later date, alright? Say, what music was influencing you at the time that we were recording at my house?
Oh, and go to Jamendo. com and search for Fresh Body Shop. Then download all of it and listen to it. Its fucking lovely and FREE.
Hey, I'm not here to say I have a show coming up or a new song. Just saying hi. That's cool you're continuing recording.
I'm curious as to what you're using and if you need any help with mixing, you might need to muffle either what we recorded, or clear/brighten up the new recordings to make the mix fluid and flowing... Or maybe you're not putting those songs on the same album. -Mike
Hey, I have a new song up that we played for the first time at last night's show. Check it out. Oh, and if you wanted to come to the next show, its August 11th at the Acadia Cafe in Minneapolis. Let me know if you want tickets. Otherwise, you can buy them at the door.
Hey its Jeyk from Below Me, I put a pre-release version of "Too Much" on my page. Check it out and let me know what you think. Also, if you want to come to my upcoming shows on July 27th, and August 11th, I am totally fine with that also.
