About me: Oronde Kairi Johnson was born and raised in Philadelphia. As a child he observed the graffiti on the trains and rooftops throughout the city noting the artistic qualities found there. During his public school years, art was a mean of enjoyment and relaxation. Later, he was fortunate enough to meet Dawud Anyabwile, creator of Brother- Man Dictator of Discipline comic book. It is no wonder that Oronde is impressed with Dawud's artwork. The publication is deemed by many to be the hottest Black comic book on the market. In fact, Oronde says after meeting Dawud Anyabwile he decided to pursue art in earnest.
As a powerfully expressive young artist, Oronde's subject matter is contemporary with an understanding of human experience that many artist senior to him may never reveal. There is confidence and honesty in each of his rendering.Humble by nature, his art sings boldly the tale of an enduring talent destined for great success.
