Influences
Pretty much any killer guitar riff or groovin' bass line produced within the last 50 years.
We also like BBQ.
Reviews - "...as they kicked into their first song you could hear the Zeppelin-esque guitar lines and the Southern influences pour from their music.."
"These guys are more worried about comfort than impressing people with their fashion sense..."
"Ko-Lija is not the band you want to see if you want flash and the usual circus tricks.....what you will get is a band that truly enjoys music, playing in front of people, and has the ability to be themselves at all times.." - Tim Black - Gulf Coat Bands.com Review '07
"Ko-Lija sounds like Charlie Daniel's wrote lyrics for CLUTCH." - Cody Cox from Goodman County, Jackson MS
Ko-Lija is an original Rock Band formed deep down in
Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Taking notes from song writers such as
Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Billy Joe Shaver
and bands like Clutch, Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa, The Drive By Truckers, and White Stripes (to name a few),
Ko-Lija's music is deeply rooted.
Ko-Lija is described as a Southern Rock group although Ko-Lija's members are actually from all over the United States.
Ko-Lija has a passion for entertaining people with their original music, they do pay homage to some of the greats. Three members of Ko-Lija have done tours in Iraq and all four members endured Hurricane Katrina. Some of the songs flirt with these events and other songs are about having fun and living life.
