Two years later after playing house parties small clubs and selling a few hundred mixtapes, LAYZ got his first Technics 1200....the game changed, cut scratch finesse! 1200LBS was born, DJ LAYZ put a name to his style and dreams in hip-hop! turntablism brought LAYZ Westward to Vancouver in 1998 two years and 2 diplomas in Audio engineering later DJ LAYZ hooked up With DMC Canada, through and old friend PJ "the boy" (FLAVOR) Picked up the contract for the 2001 Technics DMC Vancouver Eliminations for 3 years LAYZ and his Manager and Business partner at 1200lbs. put on increasingly superb Shows. gaining them international attention. LAYZ 2001 mixtape release "smokeweedeverydaybreaks" sold over 2000 copies Hand 2 hand at shows, LAYZ took 2003-2004 off too Hibernate in studios, Lounge in bars, and people watch on (you know you do it too) onRobson. In 2005 He made his return to The west coast. Linked up on the same block with the same crew, Motoe Blizzid, Blak Jak, Big Sleeps, and Threat From Outter Space lead singer Tameem B. 11 songs later cums LAYZ'z Debut LP.......SEX SELLS!
