If you’re reading this you’d like to know a little about me ...unless you stop reading right now. If you did, you didn’t really want to know much about me. BUT if you’re still reading now - you actually do want to know about me. Now that we’ve weeded out those other pricks, let’s get to it. The question becomes - If I boiled my entire existence down to one sentence what would it be? It would probably be "Zero hero cat’s turtle havoc on the underside," but that would make little sense to anyone but me. So here’s a little more - I grew up in VA, went to Univeristy of VA, started performing comedy at 19 in hell hole called Matt’s Pub and Comedy Club in Richmond, VA. I moved to NYC at 22 with no friends, little money, little understanding of the world, and very little common sense. I would hand out fliers in Times Square in negative temperatures for three hours a night in exchange for 7 minutes onstage per hour. I almost died that year - not due to the temperatures, but due to the SPAM on bread I ate as dinner. Somewhere around age 23, while doing comedy, I realized our world is a mess. I find the best way to come to terms with just how f*cked things are is to make people laugh at it. If I weren’t yelling jokes onstage, I’d be yelling them in the streets just to get them out of my brain and into a puddle on the sidewalk. Then when someone stepped in the puddle of my rantings, I would feel i had contributed to the solution. ...And that’s my life. Please don’t print it on a tee shirt.
~Lee

The top political comedian in the country, Will Durst, said in a recent interview:
Lenny Bruce was my biggest influence. I used to listen to him before I went on stage. And there are great political comics out there [like] Lee Camp, Costaki, David Feldman, Johnny Steel, Barry Weintraub. Marga Gomez is my hero.

Congrats to LEE CAMP on his balls and integrity! We need more comedians with his kind of fearlessness. This is right up there with Stephen Colbert at the White House Press Corps dinner and Jon Stewart on Crossfire. Way to go, Lee. I knew you were gonna be the best kind of trouble when I met him.
REVIEW FROM PUNCHLINE MAGAZINE written by JESSICA AGI

"I had somehow never seen Lee Camp before, but I thought his stand-up was fantastic! ...Whether talking about celebrities going to rehab for dumb reasons or childhood obesity (his idea for an obesity exchange program is alone worth seeing this guy live), Camp put a new spin on topics everyone’s familiar with. His last line, 'I’m a cynical optimist–I see the glass is half FULL of shit,' sums up his material best."

"Man, I just gotta say you're the only comedian we've had that I looked up on myspace and added. I did so because I thought you were really funny and I hadn't ever heard of you before so I wanted to find out more, and I liked the more that I found out. You've got a really solid act and a distinct style that is hilarious. I really liked the uniqueness of your performance. I've worked at the comedy night event every week for the past couple years, and it's easy to tell when someone has command over their set. You definitely should be playing larger crowds than "the Scrounge" at U. Delaware."

My friend saw you in NY and said you were awesome. *sighs* One day Lee, one day I will see your funny in person. Until then, I remain loyal to your myspace! hahaha
Lee! Funny man! I..m so glad I caught one of the shows while I was in NYC. You were great! I hope you come down to VA sometime... Cheers and have fun on the 21st! Wish I could be there. You and John at the same evening - Oh, man!
I think it was a NYT article which noted that when asked how he would balance the budget, McCain gave the standard answer of "stimulating the economy". And that he approvingly cited the economic policies of His Holiness Ronald Reagan.
What a curious economic theory! Balancing the budget .... by racking up the deficit? Hmm.
