My name is Leslie Lugo and I am a professional singer/songwriter with an eclectic mix of musical styles. I'm excited to finally be able to share my new music with you. My first Tejano CD has been released and is available for purchase in all your local mom & pop stores, Walmart.com and now www.leslielugo.com. I uploaded 2 songs from the CD to my music page. The link is on my top friends...The other 2 songs are from my demo CD. I'm so proud to have my father as the featured guitarist on the song "Poquita Fe". It was a song I grew up with and continues to be one of my favorites. If I look familiar, maybe you've seen me perform... I used to sing 4 nights a week at a salsa/merengue club in San Antonio called Arjon's International Club! I was there for over 3 years and had a wonderful time meeting some great people, but I needed to move on to pursue other dreams. People sometimes think I'm from Puerto Rico or Cuba when they see me perform the tropical stuff or hear me speak Spanish. No one can quite figure out where I'm from...haha! It's funny but I've mixed the accents and expressions of my friends from all over Latin America and Mexico and created my own unique accent. I'm a born and raised San Antonio, Texan of Mexican descent. In reality, I sing all types of music. I've been singing professionally for over 19 years. From jingles, commercials and background vocals to performances with my own band (The Leslie Lugo Band) in Conventions, Movie Premieres, and other special events. I'm also a songwriter and received an accolade from the Grammy's for writing a song on the CD Said and Done for Grammy award winning artist Flaco Jimenez. I also wrote a song for Flaco that was used in the Woody Allen movie "Picking up the Pieces". I sang a duet with Joe Posada called "Caen Porque Caen" which is currently being played on Tejano radio stations world wide. And thanks to the fans, its a hit! As a result, I just recently released my very own Tejano CD...Self titled. Yea!!!
