I really love to do alot of things, but then again like all over this page there is nothing like having a job I love. Music should flow through you like the blood in you body, and when I came up with the name Liquid Music Entertainment
I wanted to share my love and interest of music by entertaining anyone and everyone I can.
Music
I mostly like country music because it is easy to sing to and fun to listen too. I like all sorts of music though, from Alan Jackson to Green Day: Godsmack to Ice-T: James Blunt to Matchbox 20: Miranda Lambert to Phil Vasser: Styx to The Pussycat Dolls: Toby Keith to ZZ Top.

My name is RJ Phillips, owner of Liquid Music Entertainment, and I have been Djing since 1995. This is the greatest love I have ever done for a "job". I say that because doing something you love to do is very hard to consider a job, but I guess if your getting paid for it it is considered a job.
My history of being a Disc Jockey is kind of a ground zero to hero moment (that’s my opinion). Back in 1995, my brother was going to Morningside College for a communications major and for some reason when he was broadcasting a basketball game they needed someone to play music for halftime. To say the least, it ended up being me to fill in and of course that’s when the love of being behind a microphone started.
As time went on, I helped my father with Doc and Kure Karaoke traveling around the Siouxland area and areas of lower Minnesota doing Karaoke Entertainment at bars, weddings, and after prom parties. I got in high school not to long after and during this tour of duty and realized that this was the life I loved.
In 1997, I got the chance through high school to job shadow Rob Powers (at this time he was working for KSUX 105.7) and learned a lot of ways to entertain the crowd, keep people wanting more from the DJ, and getting a following. A year later I got another opportunity to do an internship at KSUX 105.7 and during this opportunity they must of loved me enough to hire me because I had a job right after my internship was up. While I was there, they gave me show times like the 12am-6am shift to prep for the morning show, all request Saturday Night, and also making commercials for businesses needing a reliable DJ to push their business and it did.
During this opportunity, I was fortunate to come in contact with a few more DJ's Johnny Walker and Dan Lehman who really became an influence to try a new radio station and move to KOLK Country 102.3, which later became Star 102.3. This transition from one format to another was a very big learning experience. When this happened I filled in for a lot shifts, working overnights, evenings and day time. I was also employed to do on-location remotes with the Sioux City Musketeers and Rivercade.
While time went on working for radio stations and still working with my father doing parties, I got another offer by my fellow mentor Rob Powers working for Clear Channel, which employed me as a DJ of KG95. Rob had so much faith in me he gave me Saturday nights show featuring all request 80's music because he needed ratings. KG95 was featured #1 for almost 5 weeks during my show until the radio station started to go with a satellite national show to keep ratings and it did. I also with KG95 was an on location DJ with Rivercade, business promotions, Sioux City Bandits and Explorers, Lewis Bowl, Artsplash, and many more.
I finally wised up and bought my own equipment and started my own business called Liquid Music Entertainment, but was always associated with my dad's business because he was the one that got me mobile, helped me with shows and got me on my own with business and life.
Who I'd like to meet: These people and many people like it that make a party exciting are people I like to meet!!! These photos are from a party I dj'd for a frat from USD 04 nov2006. I had a blast and I hope they all did also!!! Thanks for letting me be a part of your party and help guide it to greatness. Testifing a great time!!!

I know it really sounds weird, but as a DJ myself, I would love to meet Kasey Kasem and some of the other all time famous DJ's know world wide. When you hit the big time like that you must really know what makes things work and really got talent.
Putting aside the obvious, I really would like to meet a lot of people interested in parties because the look that a satisfied person, like a bride and groom or host/hostess, has on their face when they just had a night they will never forget is amazing. You have to remember that the wedding night should be the most memorable for the bride and groom and I take a lot of pride making sure that they enjoy it with their entire family. Other than weddings, people that throw parties must get what they want as well, especially when they are trying to impress someone or even a group of people and making them look like they can make a great decision by highering a great DJ that’s very satisfying.

Might have a great new place for yall to come and sing. Its in Riverside and should be open around aug 15th . I will be there for the grand opening and hope you all can make it for karaoke and dance. YEAH somewhere where singing and dancing are fun again. lol stay tuned for more details
About those shirts, i think we will just stick to wearing them to the bar. Although we all need to make another trip to the playhouse sometime. I guess we all need to get a day off at the same time. Good luck to that!! haha

Hey honey... just wanted to let you know that I love you and I am excited about marrying you. Somedays it seems so far away and others I know it is going to be here before we know it. I can't wait to actually start OUR life together and enjoy just sitting around watching TWINS baseball with our bulldog. I am also very proud of you for all that you have accomplished with your businees and the military. I know sometimes I don't seem the most supportive but that is because I am selfish and want you all to myself.

haha.. i dont even like that team i was just rockin the jersey! ya i got off at 12 and then got out so i wouldnt have to keep working!!!but im glad i can make ur lewis bowl experience even better! haha! so are u moving sometime soon or??
Yes, you will have to take a look at my lap top when i get it. I dont think you will be in town when i do, so the next time you are in town, i can bring it over and you can look at it and see what you can do to make it cooler then ever!! haha
