Both born in Florida, one of the few pioneer states in America for the underground electronic music movement, Kris Larson and Mark Kovach (aka LoVac) spent over a 2 decades combined building their knowledge and reputation in the electronic dance music community. In November 2004 Kris and Mark joined forces and began producing their first track as a duo under the name ‘LoVac’ (Larson + Kovach = LoVac).
Kris’ experience and knowledge of music over the years brings plenty to the table for this DJ recently blossomed to production duo. He has DJ-ed alongside some of the industries heavy hitters such as John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Dave Seaman, Jimmy Van Malleghem, Chris Fortier, Sam Mollison, Danny Howells, BT, and Bill Hamel. Kris has participated in past productions with Sunkissed Studios under the guise Third Rail (alongside Bill Hamel and Jason Nickerson). Their release on Sunkissed Records titled “Tempest” received great reviews in multiple magazines as well as making the rounds in the clubs.
Mark’s knowledge in music has developed greatly over the last 5 years building strong ties with press, promotional agencies, labels, and the artists via the online EDM portal www.DJsInbox.com. His 15 years of experience with computers and various software has definitely proved to be positive influence for the team’s production endeavor. Mark has DJ-ed in various cities across the nation such as Portland, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, and Purépero, Mexico.
In addition to Djing and producing together Kris and Mark host a bi-weekly Internet show titled “Solid Sounds” through broadcasting powerhouse Proton Radio. Showcasing upcoming talent and already established artists and DJs has built a strong following over the past 4 years. “Solid Sounds” is an excellent avenue to unleash some of the LoVac productions for all who are listening.
Kris and Mark are currently working on a remix for Monad Music which is due to release sometime this Fall/Winter (2006). Monad Music has also picked up LoVac’s first production titled ‘One Night Winter’ which is due to release late September 2006.
