Loci:
Loci wield music writhing with energy and intent. Aggressive alternative rock offset by dreamy shoegazing; a sound that ambushes the listener with both brute force and siren-like seduction. This is music with edge, with dark intelligence and a sarcastic smile.
A “sense of menace”, BBC Wales suggest, is what sets Loci apart, and indeed a Loci performance is anything but predictable. Eighty shows of frenzied acrobatics, bruises, crushed instruments and applause. Unpredictable? Yes, but what you can expect is to leave with a grin!
A band true to the real ethos of indie and alternative, Loci’s self recorded and produced Filtered to Function EP is a visceral slice of their fierce, brutal and honest sound. “One of the rawest sounding bands to tear out of your stereos in a long while” UK Music Search.
Loci have received airplay from both mainstream and student radio, from BBC Bristol to Swansea’s the Wave dedicating a 15 minute segment solely to the band – as DJ Johnny B reinforced “This is music to care about!”
Hey Just stopping by to see how my myspace friends are doing! How are you? Please check out my songs and leave some comments. I will respond to them all! Enjoy the rest of your week! Love Tony
New track!!?? I'm all exited... I'll have to listen to it after work cos the facist company I work for wont allow stream media. Saw your sound on sound review the other day... I'd go round and bite their ankles if I wasn't so afraid of catching their snobbery. ;) Luv to ya all
Just to let you know about an extra-special New Root gig on Saturday 31st May @ The Croft, Bristol.
We're doing a headline set featuring Visual Projections from VJ James Bragg and everyone gets a FREE copy of our new 'Sick of Me' EP on the door. Venue Magazine described it as '...an extraordinary sound...a sort of power pop/goth/rock opera hybrid...the most exhilarating thing we've heard all week'.
There also support from Sally-Anne Langton - 'one of Bristol's most promising singer/songwriters' - plus Special Guests. All for £5. You can buy tickets in advance from www. thenewroot. com
Thanks and hopefully see you there on Sat 31st May!
Had a great time at Le Pub the other night guys-here is a snippet of the occassion immortalised forever! Everyone check out my Youtube profile 'hellcatty' for more Loci vids! x
Tim's back? Hurrah! I'm confused! In, out, shake it all about? Really liking the new track guys, strong song with the classic Loci sound, hope to see you up this way soon, I'll throw your name my promoter mate's way if you're up for it?
oi lemmie be the new drummer! fuk it! i can rock a funky beat...we can do a jam session like the good old days of PLG (ask the other schlaaags bout that) anyways was creamin myself to the seductive, hypnotising backing vocals on the track "Trinity" (no offense to da man but that female touch just is da don)....ooooooh "sad lonely stereotype" breakdown near the end around 4:30 is heartbreakin nearly had me in tears :( (where's my wife??)! WHERE IS THE MURDER MUSIC TRACK!!! still waiting for that lick shot murderation riff to kill it in a sound system near me! New track is definitely sexy! Good idea not putting final mixes online! keep the punters coming shunny! Oi Oi!!!!! much love to my trio favorite! xxx
