Lucas was born in the small town of Hubbell, Nebraska, population 50. The entire Hoge family loves to sing and at a young age Lucas found his calling.
In college Lucas joined a praise and worship band called "XtremeDevotion" and soon Lucas was playing and singing for a variety of different bands. He moved more into mainstream with a band called "Southern Cross" a country rock band that played festivals and fairs across Nebraska and Kansas and opened for John Michael Montgomery at Harrahís Casino. Lucas soon recruited his own band 'Borderline' performing a variety of country, country-rock and gospel music to sold-on-him crowds.
The Hoge family and the entire town of Hubbell was in such support of Lucas following his dreams that during his final concert they raised $2500.00 for him. Lucas packed up his 1994 Dodge Ram pickup and moved to the Country Music Capital of the World-Nashville.
It wasn't long before Lucas was playing at the world famous Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, Hotel Preston, The Broken Spoke, Hall of Fame Lounge, the Alabama Grill, Tootsies Orchid Lounge, BB Kings in Los Angeles and Nashville,The Wild Horse Saloon, Whisky Island and in numerous other venues.
In 2002 Lucas released his debut CD 'In My Dreams'. Fall 2004 Contemporary Christian artist Johnny Andrews recorded Lucas's song 'Get the Door', co-written with his friend Eddie Kilgallon.
Television was next on the list, Lucas got his first major television cut on the WB's popular show, 'Smallville' with the song 'If Only I Could' that he performed and co-wrote with Corey Barker and Brent Anderson.
'DIRT', the second album for Lucas, which he co-wrote several of the songs, including the title cut, 'Dirt' with Jeff Dayton and Eddie Kilgallon.
Lucas has several awards in both singing and songwriting, he was nominated for 'Male Country Singer/Songwriter of the Year' for 'Dirt' and twice for 'Male Contemporary Christian Singer/Songwriter of the Year' with 'Reign Over Me' and 'Get The Door', he was also nominated for 'Country Album Of The Year' for 'DIRT' in the 16th Annual LA Music Awards. Lucas walked away winning: 'Country Album Of The Year' for 'DIRT' and 'Male Contemporary Christian Singer/Songwriter Of The Year' for 'Get The Door'.
The 17th Annual LA Music Awards noticed Lucas again and he was nominated for 'Pop song of the Year' with 'If Only I Could' and again in the 18th Annual LA Music Awards and in the Hollywood Music Awards in 2008 for 'Country Single Of The Year' and 'Country Artist Of The Year'
