Hmmm...where do I start? So many interests/influences, so little space...Here are some (in no particular order):
Vocalists - Eva Cassidy, Gladys Knight, Nancy Wilson (the jazz diva, not from "Heart"), Ann Wilson (yes, from "Heart"), Dalbello, Joss Stone, Michael McDonald, Pat Benatar, David Pack, Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, Patti Austin, Kenny Loggins, Annie Lennox, Bill Withers, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Melissa Etheridge, Joan Osborne, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Norah Jones, ...

Anything Science Fiction...
(I think I was born too soon...)
Television
Don't really watch much unless it's with my eyes closed, lying on the couch...lol (it's a great sleep aid).
Of the stuff that's still current - West Wing and C.S.I. (the original).
The "good stuff" is now either off the air or in syndication (but luckily most are available on DVD) - Farscape, Dead Zone, Star Trek (the original and Next Gen), Dharma and Greg
Books
Ah...It's about time I update this... *lol*
I've been "reading" a lot more these days (either printed books or listening to audio books
- a necessity for the perpetually busy...
that and an iPod *lol*).
As some of you have noted, I am an avid student of spirituality...
and of the universal laws, creative visualization, Quantum Physics and all that good stuff :)
My bookshelf below represents a slice of what I am currently reading / have read / would like to recommend to you...
Point to the book to read the title...
I'll try to keep adding to it as I come across other worthy titles.
Oh... If you click on a book and you are not taken to the Shelfari page, the browser or MySpace may be preventing the direct links. In that case, the Shelfari URL for that book was copied to your clipboard and you can paste it into your browser address bar...
or you can just go to my bookshelf on Shelfari here: http://www.shelfari.com/LunaJade/shelf
p.s....
There are more than what's showing so click the >> and << to "spin" the shelf...
In the realm of fiction...
I have always been intrigued by Science Fiction, especially Speculative Fiction... I love exploring the "what if?"...
As for particular authors...
Anything by Anne Rice, Stephen King, William Gibson, Bruce Sterling, Isaac Asimov, Kurt Vonnegut, Edgar Allen Poe.
(Sense a pattern? there are others, just not coming to mind...I'll add them as they are remembered)

About me:
Who am I? Hmmm ... a question not easily answered...
I am many people, yet only one.
I coexist in different worlds; comfortable in all...
but not quite at home in any.
My "skin" adapts to suit my current surroundings/circumstances,
yet I remain constant at the core.
I am eternally restless, yet content.
It is the harmonic (and sometimes dissonant) balance of my different facets that brings me peace.
Vocalist, songwriter, poet, artist, software developer, pro techno-geek, eternal student ...
left and right brain vying for control...and working in concert.
In wandering through this MySpace community, I can see that I am not alone in my "divided" nature. Many of you stretch yourselves in different directions.
This is good

I saw this on a friends page -- and it spoke to me...
A poet
is an unhappy being
whose heart is torn by
secret sufferings,
but whose lips are so strangely formed
that when the sighs
and the cries escape them,
they sound like beautiful music...
and then people crowd about
the poet and say to him:
"Sing for us soon again;"
that is as much as to say,
"May new sufferings torment your soul."
~ Soren Kierkegaard
One evening, an old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life...
He said, "My son, there is a battle between two "wolves" inside us all.
One wolf is Evil - he is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, competition, and ego.
The other is Good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

My Music:
My eclectic nature spills over to my songwriting and vocal style. As the daughter of a jazz trumpet player and an artist, those influences have been with me from an early age.
My current projects, each different in style and vibe, will give you a taste of that musical multiplicity.
My Art:
In the soul of every artist lives the desire, the need to create a tangible object of beauty.
Another artistic passion and expression of mine is beadwork.
I design and create mostly jewelry items and adornments, but I also create other beaded objects as well.
Here are some of my wire-wrapped pendants.
Each one features a faceted semi-precious stone or Swarovski crystal drop (the one pictured here is Labradorite):
(click on the pendant for more designs)
I'm in the process of getting my new jewelry company, Luna Bijou, off the ground and I hope to start selling these (and other) handmade items in 2007.
Stay tuned for more info!
Some of you may have already seen my "greeting cards" - graphics created for different occasions/holidays that featured one of my beaded creations.
It's my way of leaving a creative holiday greeting comment for my friends....

My Other Art...
My artistic muse sometimes likes to play in the visual...
and I'll 'ramble on' in Photoshop... creating what the spirit moves me...
Sometimes to illustrate my lyrics...sometimes just a random (and frequently ridiculous) thought in my head.
Who I'd like to meet:
Those with the grace and confidence in their own light not to be threatened by the glow of another.
People who:
- are masters of their own mind.
- allow themselves to dream... and believe.
- are responsible for... and can provide for... their own existence.
- create, think, feel, learn, work, love ... with tangible results.
- truly are in forward motion, reaching for the next level.
Teach me something new and I will return the gift.
I believe in the true spirit of partnership, where each person brings what they have to offer to the table and works hard toward the common goal.
"Investing" in a partnership requires giving more than that which doesn't cost you anything.
The synergy that is possible when each person lives that is amazing...
Who else I'd like to meet:
Trent Reznor, Klayton, Dalbello...or their clones....
