The Meaning of Life, Creation and why the hell do they wrap cheese in a plastic packaging thats so difficult to remove? Apart from that I enjoy all the normal things, Eating out, Going to the Cinema, Concerts and visiting friends etc; I have a fascination with conspiracy theories. Most may be mad! but there’s no smoke with out fire as they say. Really interested in the UFO phenomena, so many sightings by genuine and responsible people …gotta be something going on out there? And with the current Global problems I’m even starting to think ‘David Icke’ and his claim that the world is being controlled by a super powerful group of individuals known as the ‘illuminati’ may not be so crazy. I love Motor sports, Motorcycle racing in particular. Went to the Castle Combe circuit in 1970, watched the 125cc race which was won by an up and coming racer by the name of Barry Sheene, I've been hooked on bikes ever since. Music! is the food of life to me. Been to so many concerts over the years, think I'm going a bit deaf as a result (Pardon?). Trying to play the Electric Guitar at present... Hendrix and Clapton have nothing to worry about. Seems each time I plug in and groove out! every dog in the neighbourhood trys to join in? Reckon ‘Mike and the Howlers’ would be a great name for a band though? Mountain biking, lots of good routes around Bristol. Yes and I'm afraid Angling, not very pc I know, but Its a way of getting close to nature and I find it quite relaxing. Things I've done in the pass include, Scuba Diving.....got scared? Sky Diving....got scared? Quad Biking.......Not since OZZY fell off?
  • Music

Every thing except rap and modern jazz. Saw my first concert in 1972, 'Hawkwind' Performing their Space Ritual show. What with the psychedelic Lighting and the sight of 'Princess Stacia' with her huge emmm! up front stage presence! I have not been the same since. Some of the earliest concerts that I went to included, Genesis(saw them at the Colston hall in 1973), Black Sabbath (saw them in 74) Pink Floyd (seen them five times), Queen (saw them in 76, Bristol Hippodrome) Led Zep, (saw them twice including one of the famous Earls Court concerts), Robin Trower, Thin Lizzy, etc, etc, etc. Also like Trance dance Music and have been a fan of electronic music for ever (the Chemical Brothers, Goldfrapp, Tangerine Dream, you know the type of thing). And of course it goes without saying, Just love 'The Lower House Project' (check them out on myspace).
  • Movies

The length of a film should be directly related to the endurance of the human bladder. -- Alfred Hitchcock; Quote..... Movies that set new standards of visual excellence and keep you on the edge of your seat……..Jaws, Close encounters, 2001 , Gladiator, the Matrix. Having said that, I watched a movie the other night called ‘The Governess’ which is a romantic period drama starring actress ‘Minnie Driver’ and I was totally transfixed. No special effects and a simple story…….. just brilliant acting and wonderful imagery. Just Awesome! Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe
    .. Pink Floyd
  • Television

I hate soap operas and Reality shows Coz they’re cheap to produce and glorify the worst aspects of human nature ( or am I just being a boring old fart?) Love factual programs mostly watch the Discovery Channels and of course watching my beloved Motor sports. Really liked the 'X Files' even if it did lose its charm towards the end. I'm now into 'Heroes' which is just wonderful TV. "Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction" ~ Albert Einstein
  • Books

My current favourite, John Prescott’s… ‘Bulimia and how to try and win public sympathy’. Amy Winehouse’s … ‘In search of Blake’ this is an interesting reworking of the Finding Nemo, theme. And of course Dan Brown’s wonderful book ‘DECEPTION POINT’ which is in fact exactly the same story as ‘The Da Vinci Code'. Talk about method writing? Ok all joking apart, I love reading Science fiction, coz it predicts the future and is the ultimate form of escapism. LOOK AFTER THE EARTH IT’S THE ONLY ONE WE HAVE!! AND IT'S GOT CHOCOLATE?
  • Heroes

THE MAIN MAN! The late Great 'Barry Sheene' Cos! he was a brill Bloke. The late great 'Jimi Hendrix'...Inspired so many musicians and his music is still relevant today. The sadly long departed 'Leonardo da Vinci' for his legacy of work and his vision. The late great 'Steve McQueen' for being the king of cool...Can you see a pattern emerging here? 'Nigella Lawson' oh well! at least she’s still alive and Gorgeous! AND GOD MADE WOMAN ! Wooo....Nigella?

    Hail, Mike!

Cheers, my clever (but barking-mad, like me) chum.

I gotta tell ya... I'm concerned about all the GMOs we eat.

Some of them are so big, it's scary!

It seems as if the future is already here.

And what if this stuff causes human mutations?...

    ...and bizarre side effects?!

Wishing you an organic weekend, good friend.
    Peace, love, and nature,

    Hail, mike!

I hope that you are well, my bro. Thanks for the Canuck Day wishes. It's been lobster-HOT here, also.

Here in North America, as Independence Day approaches...

...we thank the stars that the aliens have departed...

...and we may get on, once again, with the obligation of restoring freedom... for all the world.

Wishing you a glorious American Independence Day weekend, dear friend. Let us hope that America will take this obligation to heart.
