DJ MIKE TRAFIK
DJ Mike Trafik is a regular DJ, a producer of the band PSH (Peneri Strycka Homeboye), a radio DJ of the programme BLACK STARR (broadcasted on Expresradio 90,3FM. This radio show is the most widely listened hip-hop and RnB programme among the Czech radio shows), and mostly the top quality party DJ in the Czech and Slovak Republics. In 2004 DJ Mike Trafik was the only one DJ comming from the former Czechoslovakia who managed to reach the prestigeous title of a ITF Europen Champion (in the annual ITF-the International Turntable Federation competition). In the years 2004, 2005, and 2006 he was woted as the number 4, respectively no.5 of the most favourite DJs in the chart Ladder (Zebrik) of the Report magazine. DJ Mike Trafik started his music career in 2001 when he began to gain experiece on his first DJ shows and competitions. In 2002 he managed to prepare himself as the only new comer DJ to perform with the residential DJs Wich and Orion on their legendary nights in the 007 Club in Prague. In 2003 DJ Mike Trafik became an official member of the band PSH and at the same year he succeeds in re-defending the title of the Vice Champion of the ITF competition.
In 2004 DJ Mike Trafik won the European final of the ITF competition in Prague and gained the title of the offical European Champion. In 2005 he wins in the solo category as well as in the team category (performing together with DJ Five and DJ Arsen as a Djteam Questablist) the title of Champion in the competition ITF Czechoslovakia. With this success he officially closes his competitive career for that time and starts fully to concentrate and produce pieces and hits for his band. As a result of this more tense aspiration a very successful new album PSH Rap’n’Roll comes into existence. Only in the Czech Republic the album had sold over 8000 copies within the first four months of its existence and the hit single Parket was number one for all summer in the two major music charts.
DJ Mike Trafik is one of the most significant contemporary urban style music vawe personalities. In his sets he mixes hip-hop, RnB, Mash ups as well as influences of the 70’s, 80’s disco, electro, hapy house 4, and others. DJ Mike Trafik never fails to appear as a supporting DJ artist for the top names of foreign DJ performers who happen to visit Prague. From an endless list of these let’s name a few major ones, such as for example SNOOP DOGG, the GAME, KELIS, FUN LOVIN CRIMINALS, SIAN SUPA CREW (FR), DE LA SOUL , DJ AFRIKA BAMBATA, DJ SCRATCH, FURIOUS 5, GZA...
At the moment DJ Mike Trafik and PSH alreadz finish the tour promoting their latest record RapnRoll. Mike Trafik is also returning to a club life music scene. As a regular DJ performer you can meet him in the club Perfect (, where he performs the Black Starr Nite shows), in Radost FX (the SoulTrain & FX Bounce shows), and in Club Karlovy lazne together with DJ Wich performing the brand new show nights called Movesomethin... And with DJ Abdul 52 makeing club nite Called Peaches & Cream in Havana Club Prague.
DJ Mike Trafik produces music mixes not only for the PSH band but also for names such as LA4, Supercrooo, Berezin (RU), Zverina /SK/, Em dee /UK/ , Dara Rolins and others.
Topically DJ Mike Trafik works with Hugo Toxxx on his fortcomming solo record. Together with Orion and James Cole prepares their new mutual LP. As a surprise for the next year he prepares yet another mix tape with the most familiar names of the Czech, Slovak, and Polish music scene.
