Lumina came together in the year 2003, in a little desert town of California called El Centro (Imperial Valley). At this time Omar (Vocals + Guitar) was learning the Art’s of Composition, and had various ideas for the sound of music he wanted. He writes and composes all the music for Lumina; his influences come from Saul Hernandez (Jaguares), John Lennon (The Beatles), Jim Morrison (The Doors), Johnny Cash and many more. But Salvador Dali and Alex Grey's paintings and thoughts have motivated and inspired him in many ways.
Ebrik (Bass) always believed in Omar's talent, and never gave up on him when the band was going through rough days. The back bone of the band is Abraham (Drums), he is the one with more experience and knows what the band needs at all times.
Lumina have played gigs in Mexico, Imperial Valley, and San Diego.
From reaction of the crowd, Lumina then knew music was their true passion. The band was put on hold for a few years since 2005, but with a hope of a reunion. In 2008 Omar held the name of LUMINA, and kept playing with different musicians, always pushing for more. Now in 2009, LUMINA came together and is currently working on new material.
