   About Hulabilly
A few years ago, Tom picked up a National steel Hawaiian guitar, the acoustic kind that was popular in the 20s and 30s, and taught himself to play by listening to old 78s. Rob, his musical companion for years, had one listen, dropped his drums and picked up a ukulele. They began writing originals that borrowed from all the swinging old styles -- not just Hawaiian -- and ended up a true band when Doug walked through the door with his bass, dragging a lifetime of jazz behind him. Nowadays, they perform originals and standards with rhythmic drive and inventive arrangements wherever people least expect it, which is pretty much everywhere. Copies of our first CD "Until She Comes Around" available at www.hulabilly.com

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff

Hi Rob and all the other Hulabillyers-
I wanted to ask you a favor - I am raising money for a project in Africa to help orphans. Could you pass this link along to your friends and family to see if anyone is interested in helping out?
I really appreciate you helping me get the word out!

Hope all is well.

Jack
