Makeida was born to a Greek mother and Nigerian father in London, England on October 16th 1986 and was raised along with her eleven brothers and sisters in East London. Born Makeida Ezekiel, she was named after the ancient African Queen of Sheba who was called Makeida.
Makeida's debut album entitled "New Day" was released under her label, Musichild Entertainment in June 2006. It features the international top selling singles "Strong Brother" which is a remake of the 'Lean wit it' track by the Franchiz boyz.
Makeida has performed alongside some of the music industry's leading artists including; T.I, Ludicrous, Young Jeezy, Jodeci, Sisqo, H- TOWN, Dru Hill, Paul Wall, Terri Walker and many others.
Makeida has also performed at large events like Sweet Aurban Springfest (Atlanta, USA), Glastonbury, Burgess Park, Notting Hill Carnival, Royal Festival Hall, the Hip Hop Summit Tour (Atlanta, GA) and in various countries from the UK, Europe and America.
