Our bands play a virety of styles from R&B, Motown, Contemporary Dance, Hip Hop, Disco, House, Classic Rock, Jazz Standards, and Big Band Swing to Latin and other Ethnic Standards. We realize that every client is different, so we won't play the same tunes on every single job in exactly the same order. Deborah Davis of Manhattan Music Design, will personally design a musical program around your unique personality, musical taste, budget, venue size, number of guest, party theme, and anything else that contributes to the atmosphere you want to create during YOUR event. She will listen to what YOU want. If you don't quite know, she'll point you in the right direction. She'll work with you to design a musical atmosphere that you and your guest will remember long after the last dance.
If you want a quiet atmosphere, we'll keep it low and romantic. If you want to "rock the party that rocks your body", we'll "kick it up a notch".
So you've got a law degree, M.B.A., or perhaps you're a mad scientist or aero space engineer. You don't know where to begin when hiring a band. You like music. Everyone does. But you don't really know the names of all the songs or the artist who perform them. Maybe you can't even carry a tune, but you still know good music when you hear it.

We all majored in music, and have been successfully working in the business for YEARS!
Not only have we mastered the New York Party Scene, each of our musicians have toured with noted entertainers such as Donna Summer, Tina Turner, Blood Sweat & Tears, Lionel Hampton, Clark Terry, just to name a few. We're certainly no garage band, and not just another wedding band either. Our day job and our moonlight is entertainment! Put your event in the hands of professional musicians with years of entertaining experience.
Deborah Davis and The Band Of Truth have entertained at weddings, corporate events and parties for over 15 years in the New York Tri State Area. Deborah has also toured the world performing at jazz festivals, clubs and concerts in more than 10 countries. Deborah was elected (by national audition) as a U.S. Jazz Ambassador in 2004, by the Kennedy Center and the U.S. State Department. Along with her jazz band, she toured to Latin America fostering goodwill and cultural exchange.
Whether in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Iceland, Africa, Lebanon, Singapore, Shanghia, or Japan, Suriname, Paraguay, Venezuela, Argentina, Mexico or Brazil, or her Neighbors Wedding, Deborah has gained the respect, recognition and admiration of every audience she has entertained, and every establishment that she has worked for.
In New York City Deborah has performed at most of the top venue’s including sold out performances at The Blue Note Jazz Club, Birdland, B. B. King’s , Windows Of The World, The Rainbow Room, Tavern On The Green, plaza Hotel, Waldorf Astoria, Met Life Building, Cipriani’s , Astra, Light House @ Chelsea Pier, The Central Park Boathouse, The Puck Building, U.S. Embassy, etc. and even entertained Former President Bill Clinton. On every occasion Deborah has received rave reviews and enthusiastic referrals.
