The melodic, and captivating vocals mixed with beautiful and haunting acoustics of Meg N Dredd is rapidly gaining ground in the music industry. So far, the duet has obtained much recognition and a lot of favorable reviews.
Megan Odom (Meg) was born in Collin County Texas. She graced the planet with her existence early December 1986. Meg comes from a family of 6. Her mother was a theater major and her father was a gifted guitar player. So naturally, musical and vocal abilities run deep within her blood. Meg began singing at age 5. She took part in school choir competitions, high school musicals, and entered various singing competitions throughout her academic career. Her angelic and beautiful voice was highly complimented by everyone around her. After completing high school, Meg traveled to NYC in search of a singing career. This is where she met Shiva Davey. Shiva Davey, born and raised in Trinidad ( the Caribbean), had just arrived from London, England where he was recording at the Audio logy Studio in Manhattan city. Davey has been a participant and a leader in the music industry for over 20 years and has had the pleasure of playing with superb bands such as New Dawn, Psykik (winner of the Anchorage Pop Music Awards in the mid 1990’s), and the band Raid 5. After teaming together, the two formed a band called "The Core of Oddity". Master guitarist, Charlie Jones, who is from London, also came to play for the group. They played a show celebrating the 40th anniversary of Guyana's independence, hosted by Rudy Jagdupat, who then invited them to appear on the I TV network of New York City. This performance was widely accepted by the large audience in attendance.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck one day shortly after, when their beloved Key Boardist, suddenly died. They then played a tribute concert in his memory which resulted in a full house with standing room only. Subsequently after the keyboardists' premature demise, the band split, and Charlie returned to England. Sometime after this unforeseen and devastating incident, Shiva and Meg moved on as the duet, now known as Meg N Dredd. Since then, Meg and Davey's livelihood has been contingent upon their musical talents and abilities. They have had much exposure in New York City, playing the streets and subways such as Grand Central Station, Penn Station, Port Authority, Times Square, Union Square, and in Central Park. Shortly after this time, Meg and Shiva opted to give the streets and subways a rest and headed to Tennessee to pursue other musical opportunities.
Soon after arriving, Meg N Dredd participated in many shows such as: the Fireman's Association Benefit Concert, the Cabin Fever's original singer/songwriter competition,(which was held at the Hard Rock Cafe in Gatlinburg, TN, USA, Meg N Dredd won first place in the first heat of the semi finals the night of the 26th of February. This was a sold out crowd in attendance), Ripley' s (Believe it or Not) Aquarium Pirates Ball Show, The Alzheimer's Association Benefit Concert, The Artist's Corner Depot Days Festival Show, just to name a few.

Meg and Shiva have had much exposure in the music industry and have had an abundance of opportunities, such as auditioning for American Idol in Rutherford New Jersey, USA, as well as participating in a showcase for the AMTC in the Convention Center in Knoxville TN, USA.. The duo has also had 4 newspaper write ups (2 local, and 2 international) so far for the year of 2009, and participated in an interview on the Mike Kara radio program hosted by Mike Kara from the ' Eye On The Nation" radio station. IL, USA.
