Melissa Etheridge's 2007 album, The Awakening reflects on her journey as a rock musician and breast cancer survivor - initially diagnosed in 2004. She wrote, "I Need to Wake Up" for Al Gore's slide show film, "An Inconvenient Truth" and won an Academy Award for her inspiring song. She is known for classic songs like, "Come to My Window," and "Bring Me Some Water" and completed a North American "Revival" tour in 2008.
