The Stingerz is a support group for the New Mexico Scorpions Hockey Organization, staff, players, and fans.
Stingerz Mission: "To create and maintain a positive environment for the New Mexico Scorpions Hockey Organization, staff, players, and fans by offering diverse, leisurely, and supportive activities in a fun, organized, and cooperative atmosphere."
Stingerz Goals: 1) Have Fun!!! 2) Promote Scorpions Hockey through games, charity, and events. 3) Promote the Santa Ana Star Center (SASC) as a destination point. 4) Organize StingerZ Sacks Program. 5) Help fill seats at the SASC. 6) Establish the Stingerz "organization". 7) Organize a minimum of 3 events a year. 8) Have MORE FUN!!!
Who I'd like to meet: More dedicated New Mexico Scorpions supporters who want to meet together on a regular basis in support of the team and the community.
ROADTRIP!!! The Scorpions are off on their first regular season roadtrip, for a three game series, Thursday, Oct. 25, against the Austin Icebats, Friday, Oct. 26, again against Austin, and Saturday, Oct. 27, against the Odessa Jackalopes. The Scorpions will be back in "The Den" (SASC) on Tuesday, Oct. 30, against the Jackalopes. If you cannot made the road games, remember, this year the games are available for FREE, though the internet, on CHL - TV...go to this link http://nifty-tv.com/chl/ to download the viewer, register once dowloading and you have free CHL games online!!!
TAILGATE: Sorry for the late announcement, but the tailgate for the Saturday game is going to start early...I will be out around 2:30 to start setting up...come out and join the fun!!!
AFTER GAME GATHERING ~ After Saturday's game 10/20/2007, at Turtle Mountain Brewing Company, 903 36th PLace, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 (just west of the old Turtle Mountain). Come on out...meet the players, have some good food and good drink!
FRIDAY...FRIDAY...FRIDAY!!! The Scorpions start their regular 2007-08 season at the Santa Ana Star Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the puck dropping at 7:15 p.m. Come out and meet some of the StingerZ at their table on the concourse. ALSO...there will be a tailgate going on in the parkinglot in front of the Star (The Scorpions' Den???)starting around 4:30 p.m....if you come out, please bring some food or drink to share with everyone...lets have a great turn out and fill "The Den" with screaming Scorps fans!
WEEKEND EVENTS: Saturday 10/13, SASC, open house/ select-a-seat event and UNM/ Mesa State College Hockey game (free if you tell them at the door you are there for the select-a-seat event)@ 3:30 p.m. After the game, bring your skates and "Skate With the Players"...get on the ice at the SASC and skate with a handful of your favorite professional players! Sunday, 10/14, attend the Meet the Players event at ACE Hardward, Paseo del Norte and Tramway, 1-5 p.m. with the players there from 1:30 - 3:30. Season Ticket Holders can pick up the first block of tickets for their seats. This event is open to the public. A Season Ticket Holder VIP Party will be coming in early Nov., held at the new 32 Lounge & Bar at the SASC (the new Season Ticket Holder exclusive area). STHers will receive their STH pins at the VIP party....Have a great weekend!
GENERAL MEETING: The StingerZ first general meeting will be held Monday, October 22, 2007, at 6 p.m., at the Rio Rancho Elementary School, 4601 Pepe Ortiz, SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124
Scorpions Training Camp starts Monday morning, October 8 @ 9:30 a.m. at the Santa Ana Star Center. If you would like to attend, the sessions are open to the public. Please park in the South side parking lot and enter the SASC by way of the Suite Entrance. The Scorps will be on the road for their exhibition game in Odessa on Thursday and Friday of this week, with their came Saturday, October 13.
