Interests

  • General

I'm interested in anything of beauty. I love ideas and creativity. Photography on my own 10 pixel camera is my favorite pastime. I like to make my own wall art for my living room based on my own photographs. I've never taken lessons so I'm an amateur...but I love it. I write, sing, contemplate the universe and my place in it. I'm into role playing games online also and laughing with friends. I love camping and would love to meet a man who can teach me to flyfish.

About me:

How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand that there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend, some hurts that go too deep and have taken hold." - Frodo Baggins In identifying who I am I'd say that I'm a very passionate pacifist and feel there is much strength in choosing not to participate in societies violence. I enjoy writing poetry as it teaches me about myself and expresses my deepest feelings. My children are first in my life and there is nothing I would not do for them. The things I would love to make time for in my life are pretty simple. I dream of having my own place that is completely based on sustainable living. My passionis about living in a way that does not contradict my own moral fiber. My time is spent in research, study of almost every subject, and especially in developing my spiritual self. People live too much in the physical and totally forget or don't realize they are only half a person if they don't acknowledge their spiritual side. Some of my favorite musical artists include Jennifer Knapp, Enya, Griffin House, Pete Seeger. Actually it might be better to say that I rarely like loud, heavy music. I have to be in the mood for heavy music and it's usually very short lived. If I could be anything I want when I grow up I'd be a Healer. Not like a doctor but a healer of spiritual wounds. I would love to lay a hand on the heart of someone who is broken and just have a soothing affect flow from them so they can live in happiness and turn and heal another. My mother would say I'm a dreamer. I dream of things I rarely see. Mostly I dream of peace and consider myself a pacifist. That doesn't mean I don't get angry and WANT to hit someone I just choose not to. Life is a series of choices and I'm making a choice to learn to walk in peace. No choice I made in the past whether right or wrong was outside of helping me become who I am today. A mistake is only a mistake if you don't learn from it. I would enjoy friendships with people who enjoy intelligent conversation, who search for the meaning in their life, and who are creative. I am a christian who loves Jesus but reject organized religion in every form. My faith has gone through a recent crisis as I've moved away from the idea that God has somehow set us up to fail and have chosen to look at the man Jesus for how he was. He loved, he admonished those who stifled children. He protected a "loose" woman from the self-righteousness of would be stoners. He honored his mother and sought to protect her welfare even when He was dying. I follow Him because the women of that time loved Him. He was a true healer and they recognized it. In this way I have rejected fear-based christianity for a christianity that seeks to love as Jesus did. He is a real man. When he preached he did not list rules he talked of the heart and it's approach to fellow man.

Who I'd like to meet:

Right now I'd love to meet Banksy, my favorite graffiti artist. He is a wonderful soul as spoken through his art and it's his art that decorates my myspace page. I'd like to meet people who are happy about the small things in life. Things that make me happy include seeing a moose, days when the mountains are visible, hiking in the fall, berry picking (with someone else), listening to a river, getting zoned on a silly video game, getting up in the middle of the night to see the northern lights. I would like to meet people who can hear songs in mountains, laughter in a brook, feel excitement over the same things that excited them years ago, are not afraid of silence, who know the wind whispers, daydreamers, someone who likes rummage sales, flea markets, someone who loves beautiful art, and someone who doesn't mind a person whose 'style' changes with the wind. I'd like to meet people who aren't afraid of being known, who are more than surface wrappings. Also I'd like to meet others who are passionate about living out peace in their lives and fighting for and standing up for the right of others to have peace in their lives.
