    My best friend, and my little critters, of course. I might finally get to painting the mural I planned for a blank wall, here. I might actually finish my novel. I might move to a mountaintop and see the dogwood bloom. Meanwhile, I'll go to the movie, dine out, sit on the beach with a little red wine and watch the sunset.

  • Music

    Music is always in my life; It calms, inspires, invigorates, and makes me dance. It is more than mere sound. I feel it in the brush of wind. I see it in the ebb and flow of water. I hear it in the movement of air. I feel it when it makes the earth tremble. It is almost like prayer.

  • Movies

    I love movies, rented or in the theater. On a rainy night, a movie and popcorn with a friend is ideal. I saw Adam Sandler (who I am not fond of) in a film "Reign On Me" and thought him outstanding. "Second Hand Lions," a character-driven film.     I don't read as much as I would like. I seldom pick the latest best seller, but liked "Snow Fallng On Cedars,", "Shipping News." and rely on "Computers For Dummies" when I can't get it to behave.

    We are all heroes at some point in our lives. Those who overcome illness, who give when it is hard to do so, who accepts others without reservation, who love just because. Someone who finds joy in small things. Or, someone who can drive a car really really fast and not crash.

I am a country gal, far enough from town to have space, yet close enough to get a great ice cream cone, attend a fabulous concert, or to share a meal with a close friend. I have far too many pets, always lots of chores, a canvas unfinished, a novel yet to complete, and never enough time. In Life, I am not a spectator. I would rather participate than watch. I can change the oil, kiss the owie, race the car, whisper the horse, learn the lesson, pour the wine, roast the chicken, bathe the dog, hug the child, or sit still with a friend and watch the sunset and listen to the secrets of the waves, melting in the glorious silence of the moment.
