If you meet the somewhat
painfully shy NNG and ask her what she does for a living, chances are she’ll deflect the question or just
try to tell you she writes commercial copy or works in media. Well…that is true.
What she’s unlikely to bother
mentioning is that she’s a radio host currently heard daily on three radio
stations in America (WFIA,
WLSY and KDAR, with a cumulative audience of 160,000 or
better). She's released 5 solo CDs (with a 6th ‘Best
Of’ project in the works) and she's been a featured vocalist
on projects for French TV, Scarlet
Dakota, Sojourn, and a privately released Gilbert Family Christmas
project. NNG is also half of the Bisignano & Gilbert duo,
releasing an EP later this year.
In years past she’s been the
morning gal on
101QFL,
WRKA and
WJIE. Gilbert’s voice is also heard
around the country on regional and national spots for
McDonald’s, Cadillac, Quizno’s,
as well as videos for the Army,
Eppic
Films and
Site Organic, among
others.
When Gilbert isn’t matching her
words with music or a microphone, her writing finds its way into articles, short stories and
poetry collections (Pinches
of Salt & Prisms of Light and Heart
Stirring Stories of Love, for instance). She’s also co-editing a new collection called
Uncensored with Laura
Hurley, which is expected out this year.
On the acting side of things, NNG
has been featured in numerous independent films (you’ll see a few in the list of
links on the left) and stage productions, most notably as Maria in West Side Story and the Narrator in Joseph in the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She’s played numerous characters, including
Princess Leia, for the RoneyZone Radio Tatooine TV episodes. Natalie Nicole taught screen acting and
commercial classes for Vogue Models and Cosmo Models & Talent and continues to wear producing and writing hats for Edgewise Films.
Gilbert owns and operates the On Time Talent voiceover studio,
where she also produces much of her own music, and is a co-founder of AMLA (Alliance
Management Los Angeles).
Natalie
lost her brother, singer/songwriter/guitarist Russell (RJ) Gilbert, in 1993
after a fatal shooting, and lost another two teenage friends that same year (to
cancer and a separate shooting). This past August (2007) NNG also survived being hit by a SUV while jogging; already she's walking, dancing and even jogging unafraid on the route where she was hit in West Hollywood.
