SOME OF WHAT I'VE DONE: Scored and wrote songs with Rahzel, Dead Prez's M1, Doc and Khaliyl for
upcoming feature film "On The One." Composed 11 new songs for Charles Randolph Wright's off Broadway 'play with music' "Blue", starrring Phylicia Rashaad.
Hendryx is a Grammy nominee for "Rock This House" featuring Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones and an Emmy nominee for Disney's "Children of the World."
In her previous 'incarnation' she was a member of Patti LaBelle & the Bluesbelles who transformed into Labelle, the ground breaking glam funk rock band of the 70s, who racked up three gold albums and No.1 hit with "Lady Marmalade (Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi Ce Soir?)" As a solo artist she achieved many Top ten hits including Bustin' Out, Transformation, Why Should Cry? and collaborations with Prince, Peter Gabriel, Material and Talking Heads.
WHAT I'M UP TO NOW - Back in NYC from Seattle, Washington for the EMP Event (an amazing experience) thanks to Sonnet, Daphne and the person who made it possible; Ann Powers, Big Ups! And... the last minute invite on air by Bob Rivers & Spike @ KZOK, Classic Rock radio to join a fabulous group of musicians for the Susan Komen fundraiser concert of John Lennon, Plastic Ono Band & Beatles music & auction. Next week I'm filming a cameo/video for my friend Catherine Gunn's film about food, (Monday April 27th) on the lower east side of new york 'What's On Your Plate", www.whatsonyourplate.com, I wrote and performed the title song, 'Celebrate, What's On Your Plate". Being show in Brooklyn @ the opening day of the Afro Punk Event in June @ dusk & Coming to a city near you over the next year.

NEW GUN IN TOWN, YA'LL!!!! BOBBY LONG who I met last night.
APRIL 14th, we had a quick bite Bobby (looking shy) & Phil (not so shy) before my zipping to JFK, getting hassled by security, missing my flight on American Airlines, running to get the last flight to Seattle on Delta and collapsing on the plane in a sweat! And I don't normally sweat!!
BOBBY LONG (of music from Twilight fame! WHO'LL JOIN THE NEXT 2 HOPESTOCK SHOWS LATER THIS SUMMER!!!!!) in the U.S of A + PHIL 'DA MANAGER' after having a NYC burger and chewing da phat in the Apple. Bobby's set at Arlene's Grocery was 'Smashing' what a great singer and really strong guitar playing. It was just him telling stories that have his style and stamp. I was really into the show after hearing a couple of songs online especially 2 years old, Who's you been loving and Dead and Gone + another one I couldn't remember the title of but I'll listen closer next time.

WHAT’S ON YOUR PLATE? is a witty and provocative documentary produced and directed by award-winning Catherine Gund about kids and food politics.
Filmed over the course of one year, the film follows two eleven-year-old African-American city kids as they explore their place in the food chain. Sadie and Safiyah take a close look at food systems in New York City and its surrounding areas. With the camera as their companion, the girl guides talk to each other, food activists, farmers, new friends, storekeepers, their families, and the viewer, in their quest to understand what’s on all of our plates.
