This unique story begins in New York City, with the hiatus of rock bands Flaw and 40 Below Summer in full effect by the spring/fall of 2006. At that time Max Illidge (vocals) and Joey D’Amico (guitar) both from 40 Below Summer connected with Micah Havertape (drums) from the band Flaw and Matt Fortin (bass) from the band Confliction. Realizing that too much had changed in the industry and the music itself, they consciously made the decision to form a new band under the new name: Black Market Hero. Shortly thereafter, solo artist Angel Vivaldi (guitar) joined the others in completing the line-up.
Flaw, 40 Below Summer and Confliction have combined album sales nearing 700k records and have all toured extensively. Those tours included Ozzfest 2002, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Drowning Pool, System of a Down, Seether, Ill Nino, Bloodsimple, and Mushroomhead, to name a few. Black Market Hero is looking to capitalize on a huge built-in fan base.
Black Market Hero is a dynamic yet aggressive heavy metal band with an intense blend of melodies. There’s true substance, passion and relevancy in each song. Dedicated to realizing their unique musical vision, they will take advantage of every moment and opportunity allowing nothing to derail their intention of making the music industry take notice.
