Thanks for taking the time to visit our page! .... .... OSIRUS is not your typical rock band. They seem more like a band out to break the mold and prove that rock music can be heavy but catchy, lyrically deep but fun, and thought provoking all at the same time. "We just want to play kick-ass rock music" says guitarist Ernest Garcia. Bringing influences ranging from the best of 70's and 80's hard rock, progressive rock and blending it with the best of grunge and todays alternative and indie rock... OSIRUS plays by no rules or limits to come up with their songs and sound. When asked, drummer John Matranga said, "We want to write and play, not good songs, but GREAT songs." Bassist Al Alvarez added, "We are a rock band for sure, but for us it doesn't matter what genre a song ends up in, as long as we know we approached with our usual: Strong lyrics, memorable choruses, and high caliber musicianship. The members of OSIRUS are polished musicians and cut from the same musical cloth, with a solid lineup of John Matranga on drums, Ernest Garcia on guitar, Al Alvarez on bass, and Elisa Muratori on lead vocals. With all members combining their individual and varied musical backgrounds, OSIRUS is definitely worth more than a casual listen to, with a totally awesome mix of influences from all genres of music that makes them something incredibly interesting and fresh for today. .... OSIRUS has been steadily infiltrating the Houston music scene and gathering fans to the point where they are now...one of Houston top rock acts. Having played and shared the stage with the most prominent bands in the area in practically all local venues, OSIRUS is poised to break out on to the national level. Influences
As with most bands, each member has their own set of influences. And also as with most successful bands, all members find a way to mix all those influences and make something they can call their own sound. .... John's influences are many, but as a drummer, was early influenced by the aggressive style of the hard rock scene as well as the beginnings of the alt rock scene. .. Ernest also has many influences, but was captivated (like a lot of lead guitarists) by the power of 80's hard rock and metal scene. .. Al, being an ex-Army brat, was influenced by many different types of music he heard during his many travels. Being a bassist, bass heavy music like funk, soul, and R&B was an early influence, but then also influenced by the early bass masters of rock. .. Elisa, hailing from Italy, credits a lot of her influence from the goth and melodic metal prevalent in that region.
Sounds Like
Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative, Indie. Melodic yet edgy. Interesting musical twists and turns....but in the end we're trying to sound like well, us...do our own thing! Regardless, we'd like to think our music sounds even better live... so come check us out sometime - we promise not to disappoint!.
