The band's release 'The Sum of Our Experience' evokes Pink Floyd and U2.
There remains modern music that can't easily be categorized, defying well-established labels such as adult album alternative, hardcore, power-pop, funk or folk-rock. So when getting an earful of the stunning new release from Parkaimoon, "The Sum of Our Experience," discerning listeners might want to throw away labels and note that it's simply a great modern rock album. Released on Parkaimoon's own Platonic Music label on Nov. 11, "The Sum of Our Experience" is a wonderful 11-track disc that boasts artful and intelligent song craft enhanced by the troupe's strong musical instincts and dazzling performances. …Indeed, "The Sum of Our Experience" captures the grandeur of the band's heroes, while singer Kari Melissa, drummer Dave Goode and aforementioned Howell, Tucker and Hale bring their own distinctive talents to the mix to create something positioned between the far-flung sounds of Paramore, U2, Garbage and Evanescence.

SoCal outfit Parkaimoon (Park-eye-moon) are starting to generate some buzz for their latest album of originals, “The Sum of Our Experience,” but it’s their cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” that is turning heads. Bassist Damon Tucker says it took a little arm-twisting, but singer Kari Melissa eventually agreed to bring her swagger to the track. “We wanted to have a sexy version of ‘Kashmir’ with a female doing what Robert Plant did on the record,” says Tucker. Melissa admits her nervousness at taking on such a monumental track, but is thrilled with the outcome. Other standout cuts on the disc include “Future Isn’t,” “Bury Me Deep,” and the U2-leaning “Disappearing Act.” Parkaimoon’s “The Sum of Our Experience” is available on iTunes.

Guitarist Tony Howell is one of the founding members and primary songwriters of Parkaimoon. Tony performs regularly as a solo acoustic act throughout Southern California. Tony also plays the part of the Edge in the U2 tribute band One. He plays Fender guitars and uses Line-6/POD effects.
Bassist Damon Tucker is the other founding member and primary songwriter and lyricist of Parkaimoon. Damon plays the part of Adam Clayton in the U2 tribute band One. Damon regularly performs throughout Southern California with Parkaimoon and as part of an acoustic duo with Tony Howell. Damon can also be seen on occasion performing with the Kenny Hale Band and other bands throughout Southern California. Damon uses Fender, Alembic and Musicman basses, Eden amplifiers and cabinets, and Line-6/POD effects.
The current line up features Sarah Peterson on vocals for the live shows. Kari Melissa contributed vocals and lyrics on Parkaimoon's latest release.
Drummer/percussionist Dave Goode is a graduate of the Percussion Institute of Technology, a private study at West Coast Drum w/ Robert Wrate, Virgil Donati, Rod Morganstein, Joe Warucha and Roy Burns. Dave is currently in the Kenny Hale Band, the U2 tribute band One, and recording and live concert touring drummer with Frank Marino and Mahagony Rush, and the blues /jazz band ONOFFON, as well as other bands. Dave uses OCDP Drums, Zendrum, Zildjian cymbals, Remo heads, Duallist Triple pedal, Sonor giant step twin effect pedals, Electrix repeater and vocoder, Shure microphones, Native instruments Battery 3, Sony Sound Forge 9. Daves influences include Buddy Rich, Virgil Donati, Dave Weckl, Terry Bozzio, Timm Biery, and Stomp. Guitar/Piano/Backing Vocalist/Producer Kenny Hale is a dynamic vocalist, world-class guitarist and classically trained pianist. Kenny has been performing professionally since he was a teen. Kenny fronts his own band, the Kenny Hale Band, and he performs as Bono in the U2 tribute band One. His most powerful influences were drawn from 60’s music legends like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to the heavier classic rock sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Kenny embraces the music of the past, and he melds them with the melodic rock sounds of today. Kenny’s ability to draw from the power of his musical mentors and deliver a memorably unique performance is what sets him apart from the rest. Parkaimoon's latest release is a reflection of Kenny's attention to detail, musicianship, arrangement, sense of melody, and desire to create a record that is current, fresh, viable, while still having the ability to stand the test of time.
