These guys deserve to be playing bigger and better venues because they are quite simply a fantastic rock band who play with their heart and soul."

We are in an age of rock 'n' roll pretenders, where style over substance pays the bills and gets bands their very own golden ticket to the mainstream, but how long can it go on for? We need someone to stand up and show us passion, bring back true musicianship, delight us with honest riffs and the glory days of thundering rock music. Those people aren't packed in overcrowded faux scenes or in plastic music press, they are in Luton.
Bridging the gap between 80s stadium rock and the 90s Seattle scene, I'd like to introduce PHONIC RAPTURE. Wielding dirty blues-rock riffs, explosive drumbeats, deep bass lines and growling vocals, the boys hail from a city famed for the early days of goth rock, defunct car manufacturers and mad mercury wielding hatters. But now they're ready to make the UK appreciate honest rock music once more and their mission starts here.
Formed just over two years ago, the boys cut their teeth in shitty pubs on a Saturday night but soon set their sights higher than the toilet tour and have the tunes to move feet, rock hearts and make waves. Following on from previous Demo releases, at the beginning of 2006 the band went into the studio and recorded their debut album 'Dirty Dreams Of The Filthy Rich'. Released in May '06, the album combined the sexy blues-influenced riffs and classic rock vocals of their previous EPs, and the band proved dull life in southern England means nothing when you've a song in your heart and a bottle of Bourbon open on the table.
Whether it was the pulsing drive of opener 'Stronger', the heartbeat balladry of 'Amy's Song (She Loves It)' or the sexy stomp of 'Fucktoy' the album kicked in from its first guitar lick. Be it working with amps turned to 11 for the up tempo rock numbers or the sweet ballads, Phonic Rapture have proved there is no need to copy the past masters, not when you have rock spirit in abundance.
On the road they have been no slouches either as they worked on their way from hometown security to nationwide tours. Having already done well over 100 shows in their first two years as a band, they took their rock show out of sleepy Luton and targeted it at the bright lights of some of the most happening towns in the UK. Tipping their cowboy hats, breaking hearts and rocking souls along the way, the band are ready to up the ante on the music they plan to make their career.
The end of 2006 brought heartache with the loss of a guitarist and founding member, but the resulting decision to continue as a 4-piece has brought a new lease of life to the band and the music. Gone is the bombast and sheen of the past, it has been replaced by an honest, in your face rock experience that is born out of grit, determination and a true belief in their music.
With new material currently being recorded and soon to be released, and a hectic touring schedule planned for the year, including foriegn fields on top of covering as much of the UK as possible, be prepared for 2007 to be their year
Phonic Rapture's 12 track album Dirty Dreams of the Filthy Rich (cat. no. LLCD009) is available now from the band (phonic-rapture.co.uk) or the label (latentlemon.co.uk) for £7.99 including postage & packing, as well as all good record stores and download sites.

"You can almost smell the sweat dripping off the speakers on Phonic Rapture's debut album... This is good old fashioned rock music; big crunching riffs, pounding drums, squealing guitar solos and growling vocals all the way... As an in-your-face rock outfit, Phonic Rapture are untouchable.." - UK Music Search
"They serve up a great plate of music that you wouldn't send back to the chef..." - Bedford Metal
"Ambitious, melodically polite, stadium stomping hard rock..." - Organ Magazine
"Grungy rock n roll with anthemic choruses and dirty guitars... Phonic Rapture get it right with hard rock anthems, and succeed in acoustic forays as well... For a band trying to break out into bigger leagues Phonic Rapture have got a solid base..." - PowerPlay Magazine
"Hard rock music that's bouyed up by genuine heart and soul... The hair-raisingly soulful and versatile vocals of Nik Scott carry all the songs, while jaw-dropping guitar solos from Rob Hudson liven up the blinding riffs that surge along courtesy of grungy undercurrents... Their dirty dreams are indeed the stuff of dreams..." - Black Velvet Magazine
"If Phonic Rapture were an American state, they'd be one of those southern states where it's still okay to sleep with your sister" - RockMidgets
"The production is exceptional, a big fuck off wall of sound that just demands to be cranked up loud. And as for the songs themselves, we’re talking proper old school, out and out rock, here... You can tell this is a band doing what they want, having a bloody good time doing it, and making some damn catchy tunes in the process..." - Metal-i

In rehursals recently we decided to record some live tracks at madhouse studios ! The videos are up on the myspace. Theese videos need to be seen. Dosent take much effort. Tell us what you think also !
...oh yeah, I dunno what refrweshing means but don't dare get rid of this page...in fact, get a player on here that has all your recorded songs on and leave it as a tribute if you would, it would be much appreciated.
Can I be the first to say thank you for the excellent show you put on tonight...Blackie back in the fold for the final show was cracking! Secondly, thanks to everyone in the band for the boundless enthusiasm, top tunes & the attitude to go do something different against the grain, it was incredibly refrweshing...I, along with many many others thank you all for the time, effort & music you have given us & peronally I wish all of you the best for the future....the Luton scene alone will be a hugely bleaker place without you, and i'm not going to lie by saying it may take me a little while before i get used to the fact that you guys ain't there.
All the best and I hope to see all of you down at a weak schema show sometime soon...
