We are a collaboration of poets of latino descent...we write about what we see, what we experience, our culture, our language, our people. we write in english, spanglish, spanish and in our many indigenous languages. We want other poets and people to see that there is more to us than labor and color. We want to educate, elevate and inspire.

The students of El Colegio Charter School and poet Wendy Brown-Baez invite you to Jugar con fuego, a bilingual poetry performance, featuring their original poems as well as works by famous poets Pablo Neruda, Antonio Machado, and Miguel Hernandez. We welcome you to celebrate the rich heritage of Spanish poetry and the lyrical musicality of the Spanish language as we play with words and build bridges between the past and the future.
