ROD GILES is a professional contemporary blues/rock guitarist, playing in the Pacific Northwest for most of the past two decades in all types of venues from small intimate clubs to large arenas and outdoor festivals. He has shred his bill with Coco Montoya, the Isaac Scott Band, The Paul Delay Band, Curtis Salgado (of the Robert Cray Band), Big Bill Morganfield, Jimmy Thackery & the Drivers, Kelly Thibodeaux & Etoufee, and numerous others. In 2000, Giles was recruited as the lead guitarist for the Lil' Howlin' Wolf Band in Memphis, TN, shortly after finishing the Blues Tracks recording sessions. In 2005, he returned to the northwest delivering a powerful, non-stop, modern blues/rock show.
Giles currently makes his home in Washington. Encouraged at home by relatives who were professional muscians, his sound reflects a combination of British Rock, Chicago Blues, and Texas Blues styles. Listening to guitar pioneers such as Jimie Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robin Trower, Gary Moore, and Freddie King, has influenced his playing. Giles' music has been described as a volcanic amalgation of electric blues from early to present, always drawing from those great guitarist to create something new.
