RUSTMINE is a five piece, American, melodic-metal band with band members both from Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA.
RUSTMINE came together as a full band in August 2006. Rhythm guitarist Josh Smeller started the band, and soon started jamming with lead guitar player Jay Kay in 2004. Shortly after Jay Kay joined RUSTMINE, our former bass player joined the band and offered to play bass guitar to help get the band formed. Josh, Jay and our former bass player played with various drummers until drummer Tracy James Finck joined the band in August 2005. At this point, the four musicians began crafting songs and searching for a lead vocalist. The band was fully formed, and started moving forward when vocalist Sam Logan joined the band in late May 2006. Damian Hassett joined the band as their full time bass player in October 2008. The band is now functioning great, and all members are happy and productive.
