about a year ago maslin jai was born and a lot of things changed. we brought him to the beach for the first time when he was about a week old (when we lived in e. atlantic beach,ny) and have been taking him just about everyday since. we then moved to rincon, pr so i could surf beautiful, world class waves and we could be in a warm tropical environment. _______________________
whether maslin is on the beach with jaime when i surf, or with me when she is doing/teaching yoga, or if we are all together chillin at one of the many spots, everyday is spent seeing the beauty in the ocean and all around us.
now instead of going out on those mediocre days, i choose to spend time with my son either at the beach or wherever. when it is good to epic, i still surf no matter what, and when i get out from an amazing session there is nothing better than having a little naked dude come running over and just be stoked to see me and feel the energy radiating from me and my board. _____________________________
RadDadSurf was an idea i had about 6 months ago when i realized how awsome it was to be a dad. it definately is a lot of work but it doesnt have to feel like a lot of work. changing diapers, cleaning poopie diapers(we use cloth), sleep training, showing him all beautiful things in nature, teaching and playing silly games, carrying him everywhere(when he is not walking), are all part of the everyday scene. i love every second of it. _____________________________________________
we realized that life is not about money, tv, worrying, air conditioners, cars, politics and countless other trivial things. we live simply, without tv, as organic as we can w/out being fanatical, working on being vegan(primarily vegetarian now), and just being overall grateful for all the abundance that we already have and will receive in the future. __________________________________
RadDadSurf just wants to glorify the dads that really dig being dads. dads who don't care what other people think about how they choose to father their children as long as they are loving them unconditionally and showing them that love the best that they can. which is all that really matters. ______________________________________________
