About me: The Six Wives of Henry the VIII
HELLO! I'M A CONCERT PIANIST WHO RESEARCHES, TEACHES, AND PERFORMS THE CLASSICAL REPERTOIRE. EXTENSIVE DOCTORAL WORK COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY. BACH, BEETHOVEN, SCHUBERT, CHOPIN, LISZT, STEINWAY 9ft. PINK FLOYD AND PRETTY GIRLS
I received an Associate of Arts degree in music from County College of Morris and graduated with Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees in piano performance from New York University. At these institutions I performed in countless concerts, recitals, and performances and was even featured in a duo piano team for a while. I have performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on numerous occasions and was presented with the "Musician of the Year" award there. I served as rehearsal pianist, accompanist, and orchestra pianist for the Madison Summer Theatre, and have performed in master classes of Jascha Zayde and Dr. John Gorman with whom I currently study piano. I also play synthesizer and electric piano for the "Electric Alligator Ensemble", a unique multi-electronic keyboard ensemble performing original works by contemporary composer Michael Palmieri...............................
For three years I taught K-8 general music classes at St. Patrick School in Chatham, NJ where I produced, directed, and conducted Christmas plays and spring concerts. I was also a faculty member of the Suburban Community Music Center in Madison where I taught piano for three years. Currently, I teach piano independently and manage a studio of approximately 40 students weekly, who range from 5 year old beginners to advanced High Schoolers to adult novices. My students perform in their annual recital which is held each spring at the Madison Public Library. In the Fall of 2005 an article of mine titled "Creative Strategies for Teaching Piano Literature" was published in the October issue of 'Clavier' magazine. The four page spread describes my teaching philosophies as well as give helpful hints and tips for common problems faced by piano teachers....................
Currently, I am pursuing a Doctor of Education in College Teaching degree at Columbia University, an advanced degree requiring high levels of performance skills with an emphasis on teaching and research at the college level...........................
I enjoy meeting new friends, practicing the piano, playing in the Electric Alligator Ensemble, New York City, the ocean in all seasons, taking drives to the country, Autumn leaves and the beauty of nature, romantic picnics, food shopping and cooking, laying around on lazy Sundays watching movies, kicking around town, shopping for bargains, checking out night clubs and restaurants, any live musical performances, day trips, weekend getaways, family events, sports, music, parties, and anything and everything as long as I am in good company....................
