SIR MIX-A-LOT "My Posse's On Broadway" 1988
NASTY-NES (CEO & RAP EDITOR)
A native of the Philippines, it was in 1970 when "Nasty-Nes" Rodriguez relocated to the United States where his dreams became a reality. "While my sister was attending New York University, I would spend my summer vacations in the Big Apple back in the late 70's peeping out radio stations like WKTU & Mr. Magic's 'Rap Attack' show on WBLS," says Nes. In addition, "That gave me the incentive to be a radio deejay and a mix deejay after seeing Grandmaster Flash perform live on the wheels in New York!" By 1980, Nes debuted the West Coasts first ever all rap radio show "Freshtracks" on Seattle's 1250 KFOX. The October 1996 issue of the Source Magazine's 'In The Hood' section quotes, "Nes the staple of rap radio in Seattle would be the West Coast equivalent to NY's DJ Red Alert!" By 1985, NastyMix Records was born, an independent record label co-founded by Nes. Sir Mix-A-Lot became their first artist on their roster which gave NastyMix two platinum albums. By 1988, Nes took his rap radio show 'Rap Attack' to KCMU and his 'Hotmix' show to KUBE 93. Nes finally turned off his mic after 17 years on the Seattle airwaves in September 1997 to relocate to Southern California where he became the Rap Editor for HITS Magazine, a weekly national trade publication. Five years later, Nes left HITS to pursue his own online National Rap Radio Promotions business with RapAttackLives.com. Nes is also the CEO of Seattle's street promotional headquarters CrazyPinoy.com. Acting has always been a part of Nes' dreams and you catch him in 'House Party 4' (New Line Cinema) & in 'Kung Pow! Enter The Fist' (20th Century Fox). In closing, "I'm very proud to be Filipino & not ashamed to let the whole world know that!," says the original Crazy Pinoy!

Mission Statement:
Since the commercial explosion of Rap music in the early 90’s, Hip-Hop culture and the Rap music industry have seen dramatic shifts. Long gone are the days where aspiring dj’s and artists could network and hone their craft in an environment that celebrated their cultural movement. Many of the opportunities for dialogue and networking no longer exist or have been marred by negative elements within the Hip-Hop community. "H.U.S.T.L.E. 2004" Conference (Hip-Hop Urban Seminar To Learn & Empower) is designed to fill this void and join trendsetters and move makers within' the Hip- Hop underground and Rap music industry to discuss the direction of this music genre, culture and lifestyle.
Objectives:
To challenge the divisions between major label and independent Hip-Hop.
To build relationships and networking opportunities for college radio dj’s, artists, and all particpating parties.
To showcase new talent to Hip-Hop dj’s who work at the grassroots level (College Radio, Internet, Satellite Hip-Hop shows, & Mixtape dj's).
Promote dialogue among dj’s to improve the quality of their craft.
Educate members of the Hip-Hop community about critical issues facing them.
Demonstrate the value of college radio dj’s to major label record promoters.

Recognizing the role of College Rap Radio, Internet & Satellite Hip-Hop shows & Mixtape dj's in the promotion of rap music, Hip-Hop radio dj & radio promoter pioneer Nasty-Nes established the RapAttackLives.com panel to address the needs of up and coming Hip-Hop djs. The foundation of his panel is that the Rap Attack reporting college radio dj represents the grass roots and is responsible for breaking Hip-Hop records first and setting trends long before commercial Mixshow radio breaks it or before they get an ok to give a new Hip-Hop record spins from their stations' PD/MD. The panel itself represents a select group of over 100 djs from across the United States and Canada who are committed to promoting new music and impacting their local scenes, free from the politics of corporate rap music culture. This line between underground and commercial radio is what defines the RapAttackLives.com panel, working with both major label projects and independent artists to promote quality music. In 2004, we hosted a major showcase and conference in an effort to rekindle the spirit of community and exposure for new Hip-Hop artists not seen since the days of the original New York 's "New Music Seminar," Atlanta 's "Jack The Rapper," "The Gavin" and other similar events.
