About Richard Pinhas+ Jerome Schmidt + Antoine Paganotti
Ceaselessly innovative in a career spanning more than 30 years, Richard Pinhas is recognized as one of France’s major experimental musicians. A composer, world-class guitarist and electronics innovator, he is a key figure in the international development of electronic rock music. His band Heldon fused electronics, “diabolical guitar work” and rock to create a pioneering, aggressive music that was a precursor to the industrial music and techno to come. New electronic and digital artists and DJs are emulating Pinhas’ work like UNKLE, Bill Laswell, Mille Plateaux Label artists, Merzbow or Four Tet. Since, Pinhas has continued to create new music, including a planned collaboration recording and touring with electronic noise rockers Wolf Eyes. Incorporating influences from and sharing aesthetics with the work of Fripp, Eno, Scanner, Autechre and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Pinhas’ new guitar / electronics / spoken word works have appealed to longstanding fans and attracting lot of new admirers.

Sur la scène hexagonale depuis 10 ans, Nadj déboule en trio rock et renouvelle sans cesse son répertoire toujours teint de hargne et de guitare qui dérape. Elle tape du pied et bouscule nos habitudes à coup de riffs inspirés. Ne vous y fiez pas, derrière ses grands yeux clairs, un feu brûle. A pure sound or a clear image certainly does not provide us with reality. We must convince of it for ourselves in sound, image and word; we must intoxicate the clarity in order to aquire a meaningful distincton. We must perceive ourselves as intoxicated, while beeing fully conscious.
