About me: My name is Robert Tidwell, or Rob if you like, and I'm a comic book writer.
I'm a Unitarian Universalist but my real beliefs are defined very simply. God is Everything, even the bad shit. Music is the language of the Soul.
I try to write stories that are important to me. Things that go beyond simple story telling and approach a message of some sort. I think HONESTY is the most important part of ART and all art is about communicating an idea. My ideas my not always be right, new or well thought out but I do my best. I try to speak on stuff that makes me angry. Prejudice goes first. I fucking loathe it.
Please visit my gallery to see samples of the comics I am working on.
Who I'd like to meet: People who like to draw, read, write, talk about, analyze, eat, sleep, drink, or use in anyway, Comic books. Graphic novels are OK too. heh. Also, I am looking for people who can compose music. My current comic project revolves around Polyhymnia and I would really like to create hymns, but I do not write music. Please contact me if you are interested in writing LIBERAL themed Hymns about global warming, questioning the existance of God, LGBT rights, African American history and religious pluralism.
The whole fantasy wrestler thing, the elaborate characters, that's surprising. Then add on top learning about storytelling, mood, plot, etc. from that? Yeah, totally surprising.
Hi! Don't forget to help fight homelessness by watching the movie "Skid Row" online - Eyesoda.com's proceeds will go to homeless orgs in the US.
You can support this cause by going to http://www.eyesoda.com/film/44 and buying a ticket for just $4.
Don't look at this if you don't want spoilers about Wolverine, but it talks about stuff that we've talked about before: http://www.heroinecontent.net/archives/2009/05/x-men_origins_wolverine.html

Ha ha! Well, my drummer once played a show with the director of the video's band. When it came time to shoot the video, the director asked my drummer to round up a few friends to fit the part of a goth/industrial band, and alas, he ended up asking me. My husband was in the video way more than I was and he wasn't even supposed to be there, LOL. It was definitely fun though...
Money does seem to be a foundation for some of that stuff. So if that's what you really want right now, then you need to think about the careers that will give you more money, not just jobs. Real estate, IT, car body work, may be something that requires a certificate or even (gasp) a degree. I just don't want you settling for the best thing that comes first, when you can get something really impactful if you planned ahead for it.
<br />I do recognize that may be I've worked and planned way more than what I'm going to get out of my preparation and degree, so me giving this advice is somewhat ironic.
