My Tewa name is HwAn-Pi-Khaw which means Red Tailed Hawk Song. My father gave me this name and it has turned out to be a good description of who I am and what I do!
Hakkımızda Ronald Roybal - Native American Flute and Guitar
I perform Native American Flute and Classical Guitar in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Being of Tewa and Spanish Colonial descent, I am a mixture of these two worlds just like my music. My music has been nominated for six Native American Music Awards (NAMMYs) and has won two New Mexico Music Industry Awards for Best Native American Music Production. I am also the house musician at the Hotel Santa Fe, the only Native American (Picuris Pueblo) owned hotel in Santa Fe, where I have performed for 12 seasons. I have been helping people to relax and enjoy themselves for a long time!
In addition to flute and guitar I also sing, drum and play the piano. I hope you will enjoy the audio and video that I have posted. I have been blessed with a great gift and I am called to share it with you so that you might benefit from its healing and restorative properties. If you want to hear and see more, check out my site at www.RonaldRoybal.com. "The Blood Cries Out" is a beautiful blend of iconic American Indian imagery captured by master photographer Edward S. Curtis (1868-1952) with inspiring music composed and performed by six-time Native American Music Award nominee Ronald Roybal. Separated in time by nearly a century, their joint effort mixes portraits, landscapes and portrayals of American Indian life with Native American flute, classical guitar and piano resulting in a masterpiece of sight and sound that invokes visions of a time and place firmly embedded in the American Spirit. (51 minutes with ten high resolution music videos in stereo sound)
"The Blood Cries Out" was nominated Best Long Form Music Video in the 2007 Native American Music Awards and was a featured selection of the 2007 Santa Fe Film Festival!
"The Blood Cries Out" makes a great 'coffee table' DVD to share with your friends and family! The high resolution video and stereo looks and sounds great on your home movie system!
Here's what one fan has to say....
"Hi Ronald!
We received 'The Blood Cries Out' last week and our family has watched it and listened to it at least five times since then. The images are so beautiful and so powerful and your music seems to be made for them. What a treat for our family to be able to watch something so beautiful together. Thanks Ronald for sharing your talent with us! We look forward to your next release!"

Today I tried to get away from the madness of the city Went to a farm to relax Ran across a loud mouth hip hop cow That called itself
"Legend Dairy"
I'll admit, it could milk a beat And it's words flowed like butter But it's catch phrases "Word to the Udders" And "Moo Over!!!" Came up way too often And The chips he was eating Were suspect, at best While praising his minister, Pastor Eyes He deep branded a tattoo Right before my eyes
Talking about things that "could be Found up In the great round up" His dancer circling around us
I figured I needed to U-Tube These dudes because Who'd believe me?
When his D.J., Udder Lee Closed my laptop and said "Take it easy There is only one brand of computer you can use That will get you through the gateway Ain't that right, 'Mac'?" He motioned to his yes cow knowing full well what he would say
So, I decided to just forget about the whole crazy incident And ask you How was your day?
