A wide variety of musicians and bands are the influence for Schlock's brand of original "unknown rock n' roll." Such artist(s) include a mix of Jimi Hendrix, Faith No More, Black Sabbath, Tool, Van Halen and The Rollins Band just to name a few.
Formed in August 1992 (originally under the name "Universal Medium" and then later changed to "Abaddon") the band "Schlock" performed throughout the underground music scene of southern Wisconsin. The band brought their style of "unknown rock n' roll" (mixing hard rock, punk and heavy metal alternative music) and unique stage shows to the masses. Throughout the years the band released the basement demo entitled Abaddon "Purgatory" (1994), and 2 studio albums, Schlock self-titled debut (1995) and Schlock "Hot Off the Grill (1996/1997). Through various line-up changes over the past 5 years the band finally called in quits during the summer of 1997.
In October 2005 the band reformed featuring original members Brian Eckerman (voice / guitar) and Eric Perkins (drums / percussion). Joining the band are new members Jason Bold (lead guitar) and Josh Bold (bass guitar).
As we speak the band has been performing throughout the midwest and are currently in the process of writing new original material for a early-2009 release.
