Isaac Hayes was the voice of Chef on South Park.During the late 1990s, Hayes gained new popularity as the voice of Chef on the Comedy Central animated television series South Park. Chef was a soul-singing cafeteria worker at the South Park kids' school. A song from the series performed by Chef, "Chocolate Salty Balls (P.S. I Love You)", received international radio airplay in 1999. It reached number-one on the UK singles chart and also on the Irish singles chart. The track also appeared on the album Chef Aid: The South Park Album in 1998.
Hayes fathered 12 children, and had 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.[30] His fourth wife Adjowa[31] gave birth to a son named Nana Kwadjo Hayes on April 10, 2006.[32] One son is his namesake, Isaac Hayes III, known as rap producer Ike Dirty.
Hayes' first marriage, in 1960, ended in divorce.[33]
He married bank teller[citation needed] Mignon Harley on April 18, 1973 and they divorced in 1986; they had two children.[34] For her wedding gift, Hayes gave her a matching convertible Jaguar.[citation needed] The couple resided in a mansion with maid service. Hayes and his wife were forced into bankruptcy, owing over $6 million. Over the years, Isaac Hayes was able to recover financially.[35]
Hayes' eldest daughter is named Veronica,[36] and he also has a daughter named Heather Hayes.[
On March 20, 2006, Roger Friedman of Fox News reported that Hayes had suffered a minor stroke in January.[16] Hayes's spokeswoman Amy Harnell denied that Hayes had a stroke,[17] but on October 26, 2006 Hayes himself confirmed that he had suffered a stroke.[18]
Two years later, Hayes was found unconscious in his home located just east of Memphis on August 10, 2008 as reported by the Shelby County, Tennessee Sheriff's Department. A Shelby County Sheriff's deputy and an ambulance from Rural Metro responded to his home after his wife found him on the floor near a still-running treadmill. Hayes was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08pm.[19] Hayes was ten days from his 66th birthday.[1][20] The cause of death was not immediately clear,[21] though the area medical examiners later listed a recurrence of stroke as the cause of death.[20][22] Hayes is buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee, next to friend and fellow Soul musician, Rufus Thomas.

USCGC Alex Haley (WMEC-39)In the late 1970s, Haley began working on a second historical novel based on another branch of his family, traced through his grandmother Queen—the daughter of a black slave woman and her white master. Haley died in Seattle, Washington of a heart attack with the story unfinished and was buried beside his childhood home in Henning, Tennessee. At his request, it was finished by David Stevens and was published as Alex Haley's Queen; it was subsequently made into a movie in 1993.
Late in his life, Haley had acquired a small farm in Norris, Tennessee, adjacent to the Museum of Appalachia, with the intent of making it his home. Subsequent to his death, the property was sold to the Children's Defense Fund (CDF), which calls it the "Alex Haley Farm" and uses it as a national training center and retreat site. An abandoned barn on the farm property was rebuilt as a traditional cantilevered barn, using a design by architect Maya Lin. The building now serves as a library for CDF.[3]
The main galley at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Petaluma at Petaluma, CA is named "Haley Hall" in his honor.
In 1999, the U.S. Coast Guard honored Haley by naming the cutter Alex Haley after him.

She loved to sing. Shantel Hobson was made fun of by adults, older kids , being critized, mstreated, bullyed becauseof her talent. Her family was black sheep but the went along with her mother whom was born into musically inclined family also would encourage her family ,seeing shantel desires she always prayed for her success.
Shantel Hobson would sing around the house, outside getting compliments fom strangers; she 'd sang at her different schools attended; often ties her and friends would hang out wit friends n rhyme by the lake on sunny days. Drawing school mates, other times recording at friends house. In home studios. Her first joined local hip-hop group Roc2nap rockford ,I'll they perform but shantel couldnt be reach ,other times group became intemmidated and would go on without her.
Shantel experienced this often by realitives, friends and groups. Time went by shantel continued on solo ; later relocating to Memphis, Tn where Uncle hayes ;Issac met up after arranged cellular call from hayes sister shantel's aunt , bowed down in honor of Shantel pessance & being Wash hopson his childhood idol & in -law; over and over bowing in honor ;kissing neice hand ;sayin he was a proud uncle; saying she 'd be a huge star that the world has yet to hear from young legacy how childlegacy came along.
Isaac called up his childhood first time Idol -Wash Hopson famous songbird recording artist onto jewels/hse records) that nite on shantel's cell phone they shared memorable moments over cell about three hours. Later while waiting on shantel to perform ,shantel performed at peabody jill scott showtune a warm up intro then the way powerhouse crowd went into high roar and screams . Shantel lucky night her Uncle on his way with industry friends ; while shantel was warmng up in the peabody hotel /Isaac hayes lounge in Memphis ,TN summer 2005; along guest we're former manager Kummie Kemble; new indie label,virgin records panel looking for hidden talent as Isaac 's private referral Shantel lost her voice and lost opportunity to perform for Virgin Records that night but was up for a tour worldwide with great uncle Hayes was off due his bad health. But he would often encourage shantel alongthe way when they could talk . He gave his word to help shantel (neice) but she was in doubt , auditioning for commercial agency,silently giving up being that she was in mid twentys , some said she was too old ; industry labels turned her demo away ,but left her with advice ; inviting he then and still to open mic , workshops ,radio music/ confrences. Shantel often started losing to her competiton/competiters a younger more sexy female artist image , Shantel struggled wit weight due to mild depression of career failures from common broken promises.
Although some talent shows won wasn't given to her because she didn't fit industry perfect image. Shantel says life growing up had a nice shape body figure, She would stay fit by being actve around neighborhood walking . She was nice, out going , funny , a normal teen ager ,involved alot going in church musicals , choir ,solo ,all the time ,traveling and becoming a special guest for many. Attending multi musical programs performing , sometimes would be requested to sing out of blue. Shantel says it felt good to be thought of her singing request came from mom being booked to travel n sing Tanji hobson (hopson ) she'd sometime withhold and introduced shantel eldest daughter to various audiences. Continued to happened then request started to broaden quickly.

Shantel took her history in and with desire ;thought about her famed background Uncle isaac hayes came to through marriage to brooks Grandmother side Corine Hobson(lead songtress of the legendary hopson songers group).
Travel,traveling from north to south ,meetin' new people ,attending music industry midnight musical's Exsplosion, gettin sigle Promise Land on rotation at monroe Radio gospel station -meeting fav-celebritys gospel legends like : Donnie Mc Clurkin,Kim Burrell; and indie artists ,appearances by kiki -kierra n mom karen clark -sheard, & many more like dorinda clark-cole; Jackie clark in bathroom as they went through her exstentions ,complimenting shantel and her neice who was a year old at the time saying she was the prettiest baby she'd ever seen in the musc gospel industry.
She told shantel to go down stairs to that restroom after speaking to her in Nashville Tn. of October 2005.
Shantel grew up in church here -n- there moving around with parents a christian -based household with strick rules : No pants,polish,shorts; rarely,no music secular videos which they snuck to watch all the time because of inner strong luv for music of all genres but loved Gospel music the most. She performed at High school event not many in numbers showed up but opened up for Ceo Kerry Douglas of Worldwide /Koch. his artists like Keith Wonderboy Johnson & the spiritual voices ; Nu Beginning ft. Damon Little, James Fortune & FYIA and Evelyn turrentine agee ; invited by Santoria Black Radio Personality n wife Shatanjela (hobson-black)first cousin of Shantel Hobson.
Kerry Douglas Ceo of Worldwide/Koch ent. & Gospel Truth Magazine Publisher meeting shantel at grey curtain backstage he asked shantel Hobson to come aboard onto sign onto label. Hobson turned down label feeling like she wasn't ready yet but told him thaxs as he kept trying to change her mind with the offer presented Shantel was then left with an open offer. Meeting personal distant friend Evelyn-Turrentine Agee whom prophesied beautifully to shantel hobson in ladies room that she'd be a great voice from God to her audiences as shantel broke down into ears tey hugged and God ministered into shantel life through word from Evangilist Turrentine in Monroe,LA after mini concert series. Shantel took experiences ,meet n greetings with her as wonderful opportunities appeared most time not having the funds to attend nor contribute to but beleiving in God for her divine purpose she signed to uk underground status.
She appeared at indie new orleans ,la workshop at hilton hotel and church where she performed but label went on without her full of broken promises. She created simply Shantel a demo Gospel Album where sells we're stolen from her with uk underground sells leaving label she continued on to showcasing until it lead her down to Alabama,Huntsville where she came to live attending various church programs from alabama,kentucky,Georgia performing for audiences falling in love wit trio sister,mom group later stopped.
Shantel continued singing as solo act now. Performing at GreenRoom Lounge Club owner demanded she become headliner at club wit Jazz band on tuesday nights to start her own hour act performing ,signing pictures,biz cards,flyers all over town as she brought in people in from bham ,madison,athens ALB ; atl , GA, grabbing attention from Huntsville Army base crew beinG invited out on base to perform.
Until one day came in Frankie Beverly ,Maze -longtime Manager/friend fell in love with Shantel hobson quickly whie she took the floor attention of fans in soul food ,bar grill -GreenRoom lounge. J0e Douglas requested to speak with Shantel hobson asap Dj walked shantel over to Mr. Douglas table where he and friends sat privately discuss artist development plans with his biz team & partners and shantel he rant & raving!!!
Shantel being greatful for honorable privaliage that dreams of having everything; including weekly rehersal hall ;time with own band,tours in uk/us -atl area to build her name. Mr. Douglas who owns many lounges throught out atl, GA areas. Came to see shantel again and again. But while on hold Fankie,Beverly ,Maze wasin concert in area tried to contact Mr. Douglas leaving messages nothing. Shantel 's kept performing weekly also performing at te classic ole cafe, bar ,college -lounge Casa Montango performing wit jazz society band sundays 7-10 pm. even got weekly shot out 's at Celebrities on sunday nights from Dj. Until heavy weight came tumbling down; bills got higher causing family to pak up and leave to better family they relocated home to Wisconsin.
Summer ,June 2009 auditioned for American Idol season 9 in Chicago Il at the Bulls Stadium where she was turned down at age 26 sang a jazz classic by Anita Baker Caught Up In The Raputre of Love "
and blew away judge and two black sercurity guards they were upset she didnt make it. But the White Woman who told shantel and her group line that auditioned that they were the best of the day . Shantel won over her heart saying I cant let ya through because Simon dosen't want you, nor good singers this year at all only few ,even if I did you'll only be let go anyways Im helping you . All but funny this year so sorry I wish I could you sound wonderful ,come back next year.Yet sent all four women out door without golden ticket!
Shantel quickly developed a household name audience was sad;crushed of her announcement leaving but she said she'd return everyone screaming your coming back as a headliner act next time baby;age ranging from huntsville mid & older crowd hollaring ,grabbing her please don't go not yet !!!
