~::REVIEW FROM THE RECORD :: ~ ( STOCKTON CA NEWSPAPER )
"The last band of the night was Stockton's own Solidify. Lead singer Kristen Wiles used the venue's entire floor, dancing and jumping around during her set. She stood on top of a carton belting out songs from her heart with her fellow band members fully supporting her. The vocals weren’t overpowered by the instruments and everything sounded balanced.
Solidify ended their set and the amazing night by throwing the microphone and drum sticks into the audience."

SOLIDIFY
Press Release for 2009
By Mary Anne Butler:::::::
Solidify takes inspiration from some of the greatest names in rock, throws in a dash of classic crooning, and tops it off with a blast of modern in your face lyrics and driving rhythms that have helped make Solidify a mainstay of the thriving local music scene for five years. Cited as being fronted by “the modern female Robert Plant” by music critics several times, Solidify sets a high precedence of incredible showmanship (or in this case, frontwomanship).
Kristen Wiles, the voice of the group, has an uncanny ability to artfully blend a hard rock edge to her own personal style with the passionate and sensual feminine purr she is known for.
Robert Castillo, drums, is highly respected in the community for his primal rhythms and powerful breakdowns creating the feel and timing for the collection of songs.
Bob Jones, guitar, formerly of Smile Injection is the newest member and brings with him a measured perfection and punchy lead style to round out the guitar style long associated with the group.
Dan Tunian, bass and founding member, provides melodically methodical bottom beats that complete the auditory journey you experience.
Their current EP, “Follow Your Bliss”, has been dedicated to the life and memory of a very close friend of the band, Ms. Victoria Dembowski, who passed away in 2008 at the age of 22. Well known for her smile and positive personality while working at Legacy Imports/Exotic Java Café in Stockton California, she attended all of Solidify’s shows. There were plans in the works for her to lend backing vocals to a track or two. The song “Speaking Victoria” is an emotional gift in memoriam from the group to one of their best friends and strongest supporters.
With such songs as “Better Than Myself”, “Breaking Point”, and “Wishful Thinking”, there is nothing holding back the floodgates for the creativity and ability of this group.
Hey, Kids! Had any luck with new drummer search? It's very tough to find good and available drummers these days. I'm just hunkering down for the remainder of 2009. Am hoping 2010 is a much better (and more lucrative) year for bands and songwriters. Take care and have a great Thanksgiving holiday! -Pat (Galaxy Cruiser / The Cliffwalkers)
