Soundstorm-Nothing in Black and White
Nothing in Black and White is the debut album from Cardiff’s four piece Soundstorm. While listening to the album you can definitely think of the 80s. Inspired by various post-punk, new wave/new romantic bands (Stranglers, Josef K, Duran Duran, New Order…) , they offered creative soundscapes, well-worked melodies and strong riffs. One word to describe this album: Powerful!

SOUNDSTORM were formed in early 2005 as a 4-piece, became a 5-piece in 2006 and finally became the 4-piece that exists today. All this resulted in the sound that will be evident in their forthcoming release of the debut album/ , “Nothing In Black And White “ due out in the early Spring of 2009. The story really began in mid 2007 when Andy Whitmore ( Atomic Kitten, Lemar, Peter Andre etc), contacted the band requesting to work with the band. Two sessions later showed 5 tracks, of which 3 are to be found on the album. Major gigs at festivals and venues throughout the UK raised the profile of the band to the extent that they signed a small deal with a Los Angeles based A & R company in the USA. This was to be an eventful period which saw their MySpace page bombarded with hits and queries about the band. Unfortunately SOUNDSTORM felt that the deal did not benefit them as things were moving too slow at the time.
During this period came a change that saw the lead singer part mutually with the band and they felt the need to remain as the existing 4-piece was, the better option. This became a very interesting period of writing, recording and gigging around various places in the country and re-developing as a band. The band became more creative, dynamic and more atone to what was currently happening in the music world. Continuing to write in their own vein of music, refusing to jump on the band wagon that exists in British music, they stuck to their working ethic of writing creative progressive pop rock songs. All with the popular theme of the anthemic chorus.. The music, stretching across eras, generations and genres.
In late 2008, came the final moments of recording the band’s debut album. They wrote a number of songs settling for 7 new tracks and working with Lawson Dando (Incredible String Band). Lawson gave the band the “edge” they have been looking for such a long time. 5 of the tracks were recorded in a “live” environment which gave the sound more akin to the band’s actual live performances. Still searching for that elusive “deal” drives the band to more creative avenues, to push the barriers while still maintaining to create their own distinctive and dynamic sound !
We've supported top bands like Chikinki and Protokoll, played at top venues like The Cavern, Cardiff Barfly, Deptford Festival , Caerphilly's Big Cheese and Megaday 2007 to name a varied line up of venues

SOUNDSTORM wurden in frühen 2005 als 4 Stück gebildet, wurden ein 5 Stück 2006 und wurden schließlich das 4 Stück, das heute besteht. Alles ergab dieses den Ton, der in ihrer bevorstehenden Freigabe des Anfangalbums offensichtlich ist, „nichts in der Schwarzer und Weiß„Schuld heraus im frühen Frühling von 2009. Die Geschichte fing wirklich Mitte 2007 an, als Andy Whitmore (Atomic Kitten, Lemar, Peter Andre usw.), mit dem Band in Verbindung traten, das erbittet, um mit dem Band zu arbeiten. Zwei Lernabschnitte zeigten später 5 Schienen, von denen 3 auf dem Album gefunden werden sollen. Hauptkonzerte an den Festivals und Schauplätze in Großbritannien warfen das Profil des Bandes auf, soweit daß sie ein kleines Abkommen mit einem Los Angeles gründeten A u. R Firma in den USA unterzeichneten. Dieses war, eine eventful Periode zu sein, die ihre MySpace Seite sah, die mit Erfolgen und Fragen über das Band bombardiert wurde. Leider glaubte SOUNDSTORM, daß das Abkommen sie nicht förderte, während Sachen zu langsames zu der Zeit verschoben.
Während dieser Periode kam eine änderung, die sah, daß der Leitung Sänger, mit dem Band gegenseitig zu zerteilen und sie der Notwendigkeit glaubten zu bleiben, während das bestehende 4 Stück war, die bessere Wahl. Dieses wurde eine sehr interessante Periode des Schreibens, der Aufnahme und des Giggings um verschiedene Plätze im Land und des Neu entwickelns als Band. Das Band wurde kreativer, dynamisch und mehr büßen zu, was z.Z. in der Musikwelt geschah. Fortfahrend, in ihre eigene Ader von Musik zu schreiben, ablehnend, auf den Band lastwagen zu springen, der in der britischen Musik besteht, hafteten sie an ihrer Arbeitsethik Schreiben der kreativen progressiven Knall-Felsenliede. Alle mit dem populären Thema des anthemic Chors. Die Musik, dehnend über ären, Erzeugungen und Genren aus.
Spätem 2008 kamen die abschließenden Momente des Notierens des Anfangalbums des Bandes. Sie schrieben eine Anzahl von den Lieden, die für 7 neue Schienen vereinbaren und mit Lawson Dando arbeiten (unglaubliches Zeichenkette-Band). Lawson gab dem Band den „Rand,“, das sie nach solch ein langfristiges gesucht haben. 5 der Schienen wurden in „leben“ Klima notiert, das den Ton gab, der den tatsächlichen Phasenleistungen des Bandes entsprechender ist. Nach diesem schwer bestimmbaren „Abkommen“ noch suchen fährt das Band zu den kreativeren Alleen, um die Sperren beim noch beibehalten zu drücken, um ihren eigenen unterscheidenden und dynamischen Ton zu verursachen!!
