Sounds Like
A whisper in a world full of shouting. A rainbow in a raindrop. The shadowy corners of a child's psyche. Veganism. Van Gogh's "Sain d'Espirit". De Chirico's Metaphysical afternoons. Tall tales in small hours.....
As an artist, Sand's sound and vision is that of musical hide and seek, things seen peripherally, memory, not being here, light, spaces & shadows, vision quests on public transport, trances in shopping queues, time as a playground, hugging monsters, riding the outskirts of one's age. Ingredients are acoustic guitars, piano, bass, electric guitar, organ, drums, percussion, mandolins, recorders, sitars, xylophones, vibes, violin, voices and miscellaneous found, treated and accidental sounds.
Sand also paints (pictures, as opposed to walls, which he tends to climb)
Hi darling, just heard Fading Flowers, WHAT A GEM!!!!!! How comes you havn't played it to me? What naughtiness is this. LOVE IT! By the way, who is singing?
heya Sand! truly apologetic for leaving it the aeons I have before whizzing by...I hope you are fine and dandy, and as ever, continually musically inspired! go well, with mirth and music xx
Cheers, Sand - hopefully we'll sort out the snowman at the weekend, weather permitting! Meanwhile, the third piece has just been uploaded - Suibhne Organum Tertius Auris - in honour of Mad Sweeney & the Third Ear Band...
Cds are in production, and will be here soon. Let me know if you'd like a copy, it will be on cbaby.com, and hopefully a handful of local shops in Kent, Ohio. Take care!
Hey Sand, just recieved Two Way Mirror/Magpie House in the mail, and I love it. The blend of instrumentals and vocal tracks and the seamless flow is incredible. Keep it up, looking forward to the new material and re-issues of previous albums!
