Sounds Like
Slow pop, sadcore, twee, beauty music, antifolk or whatever else I feel like playing at the time. It is simple atmospheric music infused with poetry that relies heavily on improvisation, sentiment and metaphor.
SevenStars was started as musical zine by Chris Paluch in September 2000 in South Royalton, Vermont. Ten months worth of music was released from September 2000-August 2001, and given to friends. Since then Chris has taken the name of the musical zine as a one person band name.
Eventually Chris recorded 3 additional albums in Vermont. One being an album intended to be October in the months series called TweEmo recorded in October of 2001. Then came a double album called Whisper recorded in 2002. The final album recorded in Vermont was Hospital Bed which was recorded between March and May of 2003. Of the albums recorded after 10 Months, only Hospital Bed was released in any form (a limited pressing of 100 Copies).
In 2003 Chris moved back to Chicago, Illinois. Between May of 2003-August of 2004 Chris played a number of shows and open mic nights under the name SevenStars. Between August 2004 and August 2006 Chris took a break from SevenStars to play in the improv noise rock/shoegaze outfit The Braille Night. The Braille Night broke up in August 2006.
So Chris restarted SevenStars and began playing out and writing new songs. In late November Chris recorded an album with Jake Becvar (guitar/production) which was completed in early December. This was the fourteenth album by SevenStars entitled CityGhosts PrairieGhosts.
On January 1st, 2007 Seven Stars relocated to Arlington, Virginia and the DC Metro area. Eventually things changed in the DC area and SevenStars was put to rest.
