| About Shadetree Mechanics |
|
For more decades than they like to admit, Kevin and Matt have played in original and cover rock bands, including Big Marge, Ledbetter Heights and Josa Step, along with others years past and perhaps long forgotten.
They've done the acoustic thing before, but never together. And this time a new element is creeping into their musical consciousness - an alt-country sensibility, tinged with a bit of that elevated and companionless sound. The recent addition of Marcus on banjo has nudged the group further into a bluegrass, old-school country cover mode.
Meanwhile, the search for a bass player continues amid songwriting for a full electric band. The elements are coming together for a blend of acoustic snap and electric wail, and the boys anticipate recording some original tunes throughout the winter and spring.
