Second Place $500 Winner- Vision:
Vision's music interest began during the Blackout of 2003. He and some neighborhood friends got together and created their own version of MTV's "Making the Band." After being chosen, he and two of his peers, began writing and making music. Vision's new passion was born. He wants to do as much as possible to change the world with his music and his actions. As a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, he has a vision to lead people of all ages to his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He has gone by other aliases including Fable and G-Boy and is a member of Gogittaz. Now going by vision; he performs to share his vision with others.
Third Place $100 Winner- Bluejay on the Icebox:
Native Detroiters Robert Fitzgerald (guitar) and Molly Delaney (vocals) are the founding members of Bluejay on the Icebox. This performance also features Jon Reynolds, who was born, raised, and self taught on the Motown sound, on the bass and Russ Pattinson and his super smooth rhythms on the drums. Their music has been described as "the swing side of blues" with elements of Latin, along with some jazz and rock influences. The group's repertoire includes several original tunes, music and lyrics both written by Fitzgerald, and some unique cover song adaptations.
