   About Sorry Lee Harvey

Hailing from Birmingham, AL, Sorry Lee Harvey is on the rise to the pinnacle of their local music scene, with the launch of their debut album, "Breakin' Hearts and Takin' Names," in early 2008. Described as, unstoppably upbeat and highly energetic, their over-the-top performances will have everyone on their feet and singing by the second chorus. With their heartfelt lyrics, catchy pop hooks, melodic undertones, and a killer live show, Sorry Lee Harvey has become a must-see act this year.

Sorry Lee Harvey started out as an idea that Scott Gardner (vocals/guitar) and Adam Simpson (drums) developed over years of growing up playing music together. But it was not until Sommer Fortner (lead guitar) and Robby Amonett (bass) joined in late 2007, that the band emerged onto the Birmingham scene with full force headlining back to back shows. They played together for less than four months before putting out their independently released debut album, "Breakin' Hearts and Takin' Names," which has been an overwhelming success. The album combines Scott Gardner's innovative vocals with punchy guitar work to produce a record with a new aesthetic that keeps listeners on the edge of their seat, wanting to hear more. With standout tracks like "Five or Six", "Savannah", and a surefire crowd pleaser, "Where the Whiskey Flows", it won't be long before Sorry Lee Harvey takes over the southeastern music scene.

In March of 2008, Joseph Wilson (keyboard) joined the band bringing new ideas and a fresh sound. With the completion of the lineup, the quintet is pushing their sound to a new level and producing new material rapidly. Their new hit songs, "Carry My Load", and "Running" will be released on an upcoming E.P. that will be produced by John Paul Foster. The band has performed at venues such as North Alabama Whitewater Festival, Workplay Theatre, and Alabama Coach Company alongside bands The Strife Rifle, Selling Mary, Tree City USA, One Eyed Mary, The Spells, Mindtrip, and Will Pomeroy. Sorry Lee Harvey has been influenced from a number of musical genres. Taking mostly from rock 'n' roll, but also from blues, funk, country, bluegrass, and folk, they develop an infectious blend of indie-rock and power-pop. They have been compared to big name bands such as, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Band of Horses, and The Talking Heads. With their rise thus far, and nowhere to go but up, its safe to say that Sorry Lee Harvey will be rocking faces off for many years to come.

Hey hey, my my Sorry Lee Harvey!

Although we don't like this nonpersonal copy and paste spam bullshit we hope that you could make a small exception for us this time.

We also don't really like contests or band competitions but even there we are making exceptions. Unexpectantly we are in the final round of the official Myspace "I’m Not There" - Bob Dylan cover contest and would be very very very happy about your vote! The whole procedure just takes a second because you don't have to register or enter any personal information.

You can vote here for our interpretation of the song "I want you":

http://www. imnotthere-derfilm. de/myspace/voting. html

You can download it here (for free):

Information about the extremely magnificent movie by Todd Haynes and the even more magnificent soundtrack can be found here:

That's already it! Thanks a lot for your attention and support! We really appreciate this! Fare thee well, Bassman / Black Rust :)
